I liked the concept and I feel this could have worked pretty well. I suggest, at least for a game jam that players don't have to wait 15 minutes. Good job!
Nice game, Some point for improvements:
For a pure UI game it can be more organized.
I dont think that is a good idea for a JAM when you have 160 games to play a game that make you need to come back to check the progress. May add a speed multiplier or something.
You can also add some audio or visual feedbacks.
Good job.
I can see what you were trying to do here and I think that in some areas you achieved it and done areas not but it’s a huge success to get your game complete d and even uploaded on time.
I think it was a solid error while you are leaning GODOT, well done see you on the next one!
Loved Yakuza 0, loved the estate mini-game, love idle games, so your entry seemed like a slam dunk for me, and I do like it! Fairly simply number go up that feels good to buy stuff in! I do think that money being every 15 real life minutes is just kind of excessive, but its a quick and dirty implementation so I don't blame you for going with that on a time crunch!
I think with some extra work, this could be a really fun short idler I'd throw the usual couple of dollars at!
I thought the timer was broken until I read your comment about the real-time aspect of the game. I think that decision will cause negative reviews for a jam. It looks like there are some cool ideas there, but was unexplorable starting a couple minutes after the last "tick"
nice idea, but for a gamejam game you would not want to make a game that you'll need to return to in a quarter hour.
So, I don't play idle games, which means I might just be the wrong audience for this game. That said, I seriously thought there were some cool ideas here; I'm a sucker for unique powers and abilities and stats, so having the people you're hiring have those was pretty cool. I thought it was funny that you can hire an actual baby for $10 lol. I also really dug the artwork; I liked the corporate, paper like look of the UI. That said, I feel like the 15 min timer is just way too long to wait. I spent all my money in 2 clicks and then had nothing to do but wait. UPDATE, I think I maybe misunderstood how the game works, because I let it run for a bit and had more money before the 15 min mark. Regardless, the idea is really cool and I would check this out again if it got tweaked. The other features you wanted to add could round this out into a pretty neat little game. So keep making games! You're doing a great job.
Thanks for the feedback!
How the timer works is you gain money at exactly quarter past, half past, quarter to, and the hour (rather than being 15 minutes from when you started). The game should save your progress so the idea was that one could close the game entirely and just come back later.
