Why wasn't my book published?

Hello guys. I wanna ask.  I already uploaded my work as a PDF. All the steps were correct. I clicked Publish, not Draft. However, why isn't my book showing up in searches, as if it isn't or hasn't been published? Does itch.io have a new policy now? I used to be able to upload things easily.

Edit* I completed the tax interview on itch. Still my book not published. I don't understand. Why? Far different than when in 2015 or something...

Please answer me guys if anybody knows how or why.

If this is your first project you've listed that has a payment option, it will take a little bit more time to be indexed. Wait a few days, and your book should show up in the search

My book is free. No payment required. But, I will wait several days. Thank you.

See above, but you'd know the answer already if you had tried to post in Questions&Support where this belongs.

So. It is new rules then? Because, like, 10 years ago is not like this. Once I press publish, the product automatically visible on this site.

it is visible on the site, it just doesn't show up in search results until it has been indexed.

That being said, it's generally recommended that you advertise your projects through your own social media (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and provide a link directly to your project on itchio if you're trying to get more downloads. There's a lot of projects on itch.io, and relying on people stumbling upon your work through search results alone is not the best strategy for finding your audience.

So, what I'm saying is, showing up in search results on itch.io isn't as important as finding readers through social media and linking them directly to your project page on itch.io

Ok. Thank you
