SaveSystem

It works.

Hi! Cool stuff you started developing your own retro game! Would you be interested in having a free 8 Bit Platformer Mini Music Pack? If so, let me know and if you like it we can see how to further enhance your game!

No, thanks, I make music myself

Save System Update

It's been a while since I don't post on this devlog. I'm trying to save by using checkpoints, I've tried a few systems and it seems to work in editor mode, I'll try shipping and I'll update again in a few days. Oh man, save systems are the most boring and annoying part of making a game.

By the way, this is the checkpoint:

Yeah, I want to keep everything simple.

Update

I understood how save systems work. However, I think I'll code it when I'll finish the game, I still have things to add to it that I haven't done, yet. Tomorrow I'll start uploading updates about the second level.

Art Update:

Just a key. Or, maybe, the main object of level 2.

Art/Ideas Update

I thought hard about this new level. I was thinking of setting it in a modern  library. Okay, that sounds weird, but it'll make sense to those who will buy this game.

I spent too much time thinking so, for now, I just made floor tiles :')

Art Update

The library. (Seen from the outside)

Unfinished tilemap of a new level (library)

Hi! Sorry to keep you waiting, I had a few problems with my PC and lost almost half of the game. I'll update again ASAP.

Code Cleanup (and more)

Hi again!

While re-doing my game I've decided to clean my code a bit since it's a mess.  Example:

Before

After

I was also making a website about game development, 3D, etc. but i can't talk about it here. If you're interested you could follow me on YT(link in bio).

I'm afraid I won't be able to update here soon so see you next month! Thanks for the support

I'm sorry but I won't continue this project. I didn't like how the story was turning out and mechanics felt a bit off. I will start making another game soon. Thanks for the support.

A Real One Has Left Us

I'll  come back soon :)

Man, unfortunate. Well, I'm glad you gave it a shot

Looks interesting ! Keep going!

Hey Call_Me_Elena,

I鈥檓 a composer working with OpenMPT and the ScreamTracker (.s3m) format, and I鈥檇 love to collaborate with indie developers looking for authentic semi-realistic sounds.

I recently looked at your prototype, and I was wondering if you wish to have a musical soundtrack in it I鈥檓 offering to create a free demo track for your prototype — especially if your project has a pixel/retro vibe. Tracks are lightweight, loop-ready, and easy to integrate.

馃攰 Examples of what I can do:

  • Synthpop
  • Horror Orchestra
  • Regular Orchestra
  • Techno
  • Drum and Bass
  • Industrial Techno
  • Menu jingles
  • Atmospheric tracks

If you鈥檙e interested, drop a link to your project or DM me, and I鈥檒l send over a custom demo track so you can hear how it fits your game.

Cheers, Esamuel19
