I think the win/lose condition is a really good point! I hadn't quite considered it from the point of view of a game jam, in that the people playing aren't necessarily playing because it looks fun, but because they're judging. In that sense, I imagine giving those people a more definable goal would help keep them engaged? You've given me a lot to think about!
