I could have stopped the same car and ask for bribes infinite amount of times, and the bribes didn't add to the money counter.

But, from the money perspective, you had to go pick up the cash that they threw around the screen.

Oh that explains a lot! At first I thought I had to click it. Also you could set the parameter in the CharacterBody2D node from grounded to floating so the player doesn't slow down when pushing against a wall. (I believe this game was made in godot I'm sorry if not)

I am fairly new to making games and decided to join jams so that I can experiment and build "random" ideas to force myself to learn with a deadline. I will check out this "floating" param and update the game. Very much appreciated.
