Description
I aimed to capture the harshness of the cold atmosphere with a lot of neutral thirds, which can sound quite harsh in comparison to major and minor thirds. The song name, Exile, comes from the aftermath of a shipwreck that had occurred in this image, the crew being punished by their attempt to navigate such treacherous waters.

Lessons Learned
Proper time management is so very important...
This was (once again) a last-minute effort, made only possible by me remembering that I entered this jam at all.
(Anyways this will definitely happen again at the next composing jam mark my words.)
Also, I'm still very bad at writing descriptions.

Is for sure nice and matches the theme, even tho simple drum pattern together with occasional chords do make it sound pretty stale, especially compared to that chaos in the beginning. Verygj anyways.
Very sci-fish for the theme in my opinion, kind of a wandering feeling, not as much lost ship wreck.
I think the mix could use some work, it should improve the sense of atmosphere.
Good job! Take care :)

It'll get better, it's actually one of the skills to improve on - even if you have ADHD like I do! :D
I like this track. I agree with other commenters that it's not quite as on theme, but I think this had more to do with the percussion.
The reverb could definitely be more lush. Lots of people make their music too dry because they can't control the reverb, or just assume that it being too wet makes it sound washed out.
I had my biggest success in terms of mix quality this jam - I accidentally discovered that I can just duplicate my reverb track, and all of my sends are linked up automatically, and I just activated one reverb on each track.
Great work!
While the track has a lot of interesting elements, I don't find it faithful to the theme. The glitchy sounds, global detune, and sound design are actually pretty well balanced and coherent with each other, it creates a calm but uncanny vibe and you created a suspending tension that's really interesting. However as I said it does not serve the theme at all.
Other than the correlation to theme, I find that this track lacks some bass, some ear candy to make it feel whole. Without a bass, the drums feel parallel to the track, I think a simple electronic bass line would make a more solid rhythm section.
For the composition, I feel like your choice of using neutral thirds and your melody overall would actually work really well with some swelling pads of some sort, the chord progression is simple but very efficient for this theme.
Looking forward to your future submissions !
I don't really see this fitting into the theme music at all, it doesn't really mirror the art and doesn't really fit the ambience direction of the jam at all. It's certainly not a bad track, but it just feels very thin and dry. There could have been more uses of pads, both in the high and low end of the mix to at least give it a sense of ambience and space.
Good work though.
Fair enough.
