this is incredible, I have no idea how this game has only been rated by 4 people so far but this deserves so much more attention.

I found a few bugs, 1: if you get a lot of speed you will fall through the blocks (you will still die when you hit the bottom so i dont think theres any real purpose to this) , 2: i have literally no idea how i did this but , i was in the lava section (the first area where you take damage) and i fell from the top without slowing down (dont ask why...) and then i held up at the last second and i took 0 fall damage.. i have tried to recreate it but i havent been successful so im not sure what happened

for the first bug at least its pretty obvious the reason why its happen is because i was going faster than the size of each block per second and so i fell through them and stuff

anyways this game is really fun and honestly extremely similar to the first game i made as well (although i didnt publish that one online) , mine had blocks the same as this except they were bigger and the character was a drill and you had to run into blocks to mine them .. etc (a few more minor differences) , so it was really cool to see this game :)

as for feedback to the game, the only thing i would say is, it did take a long time to go back and forth so i feel like there were some minor balancing issues (ive seen the other comments talking about this as well). other than that, another small issue that I personally didnt mind but, the game was quite repetitive (as in, it was the same thing but with the new ores) , since this was just a game jam it wasnt expected to make a fully made game or anything and you already did more than enough, but thats another small thing to think about. so in future jams , you could focus on QA and testing a bit over a fully working entire game, tho tbh i dont mind. I enjoyed the game :)

I hope this game gets more attention! definitely deserved

Thanks for reporting the bugs - I'll try to get them fixed once the jam ends. I'll definitely focus more on pacing in future; I was so focused on getting everything finished that I didn't have time for a full playtest until after the submission deadline!

I would recommend make the web version , as you mentioned in another comment, then if you want you can add more features/try to balance the game/etc. or you could try to join another game jam and make another game (or just make another game outside of a game jam) its up to you

personally if i was you, I would add a few more features, anything I want to add, then make the web version. most people end up leaving previous games and focus on new ones, so if you want to do this as well its nice if you quickly finish it off and make it the way you want. ofc its just a suggestion tho. have fun :)
