The speed doesn't reset after every round but it does reset on every run start. Yeah if you go for speed upgrades it goes insane and does some abstract string figures :D

After the mind-numbing speed kicked in during round 10, the skid marks disappeared and the car just sort of hung out on the same spot of the track for a good 30 seconds. But everything held together and eventually the car started moving again. I’d say your engine is robust enough to tackle any sort of crazy calculations that sonic-boom-inducing speeds might require.
