In the UK's case I at least can understand where the idea is coming from. Fighting imagined problems is a well-known past time for politicians who can't/don't want to solve real problems. UK is definitely not the first country to wage a holy war to protect children from tits.
Itch's case is much more weird to me. I somehow missed the moment when Visa and MasterCard evolved from a functional middleman into a player in the morality field. Somehow they now decide who can transfer their legitimate funds through the transaction systems.
