In the UK's case I at least can understand where the idea is coming from. Fighting imagined problems is a well-known past time for politicians who can't/don't want to solve real problems. UK is definitely not the first country to wage a holy war to protect children from tits.

Itch's case is much more weird to me. I somehow missed the moment when Visa and MasterCard evolved from a functional middleman into a player in the morality field. Somehow they now decide who can transfer their legitimate funds through the transaction systems.

They have been doing this since the 80's. It is why the game Custer's Last Stand for the Atari 2600  and other things got targeted. The company that I used to frequent stores of, Sears, made the Discover card as a non-biased means for such adult entertainment transactions because of Visa doing this back then. And ever since, Mastercard and Visa both have been waging wars against adult entertainment and sex work if you look into it, even going as far as trying to get OF and PH shut down at one point.

Edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention how one conservative dude who owns most of Roblox's stocks also oversees both the two card companies. That recently has been brought to light as of a day or two ago.
