3+ hours? Wow! Impressive. Minimap is the best hehe. A shame no music nor SFX. Great prototype ^^
I beat the game :D
I really like the mini-map, I ended up watching it more than the screen. It could almost have been a third person game, because you need to be able to see around your truck to maneuver around. Getting your taskforce out of an enemy ambush is a great idea! You could really make this pop with some sounds and FX.
Well done. Thanks for the great feedback, I think will definitly be adding some sfx and fx but the idea of the prototype is to feel out the game mechanics that work before I get too attached. e.g. I could allow the player to switch between drone and driver views?
I won! It took me a few tries to figure things out, but I thought it was the right amount of difficulty to complete the mission.
At first I couldn't figure out the controls. I saw the page said WASD, but the initial instructions of the game said to turn, and neither A or D did anything. I eventually figured out that you can only turn using A or D if you're also holding W.
Once I started moving, and once I saw the minimap and understood what was going on, I realized that I'm driving a vehicle that can only turn when it's moving. That makes sense. But jumping into the game I didn't know I was driving a vehicle, so it might help players to add a little description to the itch page to let them know a little bit of the context for the controls, and for the story you have in mind.
I like the idea here. Following directions to move through a complicated battlefield while under fire is a great interpretation of the theme. I definitely want a good guide in this situation. I ended up mostly ignoring the main game screen and focusing on the mini map, because I could see what was goin on better, and I could see the little vehicles following behind me, which I like.
Thanks for the feedback updated the page with "Truck will only turns when moving forward or backward".
