How did you incorporate the prompts?
I created a magic-based powder simulation game, which I felt covered the prompts "Magic" and "A pinch of ___"

How do you feel about the game you made?
I feel great! I didn't expect to have something as cohesive as the final project ended up being, in large part to unexpectedly pairing with terrain (artist) which I think elevated the project a lot

This is one of the best games of this jam, as it is fun to just to play around in.

Even if i didnt get all of the discoveries, it was really fun!

It reminds me of ‘Sandboxels’ or a similar game, but with magic. It definitely needs more explosions (just kidding, it’s great, haha).

It’s ambitious to have created a ‘sand game’ really impressive.

Thank you!!! It was a fun challenge to figure out how to simulate the explosions - I’d say that was the most interesting feature to implement from a programming perspective.

Got 100% achievements, it took me a while to get that "make sand fall from the top of the screen to the very bottom" but all the others were pretty straight forward.

This reminded me a lot of  "the sandbox" back on Kongregate. Super charming soundscape and visuals, having more particles to play with would be great of course.

Always nice to see another Gamemaker user, really liked your entry.

Thank you!! Admittedly there were a limited number of interactions between the magics and so the achievements felt a little sparse to me, but I think the small amount kind of fit well with the scope of the game overall. Personally I was inspired by Dan Ball’s Powder Game which I remember playing many (many) years ago, and in doing more research for this project I found many other similar types of games. Also always great to see another GM user in the wild! (;

I love how every particle has such unique interactions!! Especially since the elements aren't the usual Fire, Ice, etc. but rather unique ideas that have surprising effects. The journal for keeping your discoveries makes the game very addicting, it adds a lot of wonder and depth to the game.
