A really great submission. Sorry I didn't get to rate it in time, but it would have been 4 stars in every category for me. I did get a moment where the game soft-crashed, after showing me I had 888 of every resource, but I'm not certain it was the game's fault, as up to that point I had no troubles (although I accidentally refreshed the page somehow when trying to open the Craft menu...).

The audio balance was a little off, but not enough to break immersion importantly. The voice-acting was really unexpected and fit the game very well. The tone of the dialogue was also great.

Normally I would encourage people to finish the game post-jam, but I honestly think the team has the capability to make something bigger than this, if they have not done so already. Whatever you wish to pursue, I wish you the best of luck and hope you find success, because this was a great indicator indeed.

Thanks! Since the game was made in Scratch and then packaged using Turbowarp, it's likely that there are some weird issues (e.g. the resource display bug).

The audio balance is something that we didn't pay too much attention too, but we probably should have lol.

And thanks again for all of the positive feedback! Team BagelBytes will for sure continue making bigger and better games, thank you so much for your support :D

Totally fair, game jams are all about priorities and I think you got yours pretty much spot on.

No problem, I'll keep an eye out for something in the future from you :D

Developer(+1)

Wow - thank you so much!  We do hope to make a really big game one day, maybe a full version of our first game, "In Development". Super glad that you enjoyed the game, and thank you for your encouragement!

#612 out of 9411 games at GMTK 2025. Fully deserved, congratulations, you earnt that place with an excellent submission.

Keep producing small-scoped games, and entering jams, and I'm sure In Development will no longer bear its name and be worth the wait, haha!

Excellent game! I realized the sense of urgency about 2 loops in, and then it took me a few more loops to realize i missed some crucial advice about the boat building mechanic lol once i figured that out, i managed to get the boat built, but i kept getting the "seriously" comment lol (which by the way, i love the fact that there's voice acting). great game though! nice work!

This is a fun game

Developer

Thanks lol

Developer(+1)

Thx! I've personally made that same mistake many times during testing too lol

Very funny, love the art! I was so confused why the boat broke, but then I just started seeing what else I could add! Hope ya guys win! :D

Developer(+1)

thank you so much! glad you liked the game!

Submitted(+2)

Quite impressive for a game made in scratch! It was fun learning how to escape and putting things together. Overall a fun game. Good work!

Developer

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the game :)

Developer

Thank you for your kind words!

Wow you even did ending credits with a specific music !

Well done game, a very distant cousin to "Outer Wilds", one of my favorite games.

Very cute artwork, good music, a lot of polish  and details everywhere. A nice entry to this jam.

Developer

Tysm! Our art + music team members (Cotufa + TwoSide) did an amazing job :D

(It's also super funny that you mention Outer Wilds specifically, as I believe during the initial planning VC, I had talked about that game too!)

Developer

I made the credits, so I appreciate someone liking that lol - thank you for playing!

Submitted(+2)

Certainly one of the most creative games I've seen! Not really any replayability once you know what you need to do, but that's fine for a jam game. The art is definitely the highlight of the game. Good job on what you made in Scratch! Mine is also made in Scratch haha

Developer

Thanks! The main replayability for this game relies on speedrunning (here was my attempt How I Got a Speedrunning WORLD RECORD (on our Scratch game)), but if you don't go that route, the story progresses the same, and I do agree it loses it's "charm".

Developer(+1)

Lol - I'm happy that we're proving that good games can be made in Scratch ;-;

Submitted(+1)

Maybe I proved it too *cough cough* -> https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2025/rate/3774220#post-13746062

Good game, took a while to figure it out, had a lot of fun!

Developer

Thanks! The main goal of this game was to have the player explore around to find their options (and have more immersive "instructions", such as with the "Boss"), and I'm glad that you enjoyed it :)

Submitted(+2)

its a good game but i got stuck a bit

its a good game but i got stuck a bit

Developer

Thanks! You have to add all 4 of the needed items (rope, sail, boat base, and grass) to the boat to finish the game :)

Submitted

oh ok thanks!

Divine voice acting, and the idea reminds me of one of our concepts for this jam. Overall, the game is really cool! Longer loops would be nice, but other than that — just 10/10.

Developer

Tysm! McTonk does a great job voice-acting :D (Also, we tried longer loops, but we decided on a shorter gameplay loop just in case some players got impatient.)

Developer(+1)

If this game dev thing doesn't work out I may just become a voice actor - thank you so much though! We are planning on releasing more updates after the jam ends

(+1)

I did the rating

Developer

thanks!

Submitted(+1)

Liked your concept, and amount of things you've managed to made, that was a lot of stuff is such a short time!

Developer

thank you so much! it was super challenging but definitely worth it

Submitted(+2)

Strong and fun concept! I had issues figuring out how to combine the parts of the boat together to assemble it, but I'm also really tired lol so that could be the problem.

Developer(+1)

Lol - thank you for playing!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! The "Z" key is used to attach items to the boat when you have selected the item in your hotbar.

Thanks!
