Darkness kills you a bit too fast, so I couldn't progress much, but I really like the concept.

I just discovered that I didn't cap framerate in my export, so if your browser is running faster than 60fps, weird things happen (very fast death and capture doesn't work). idk if that'll help, thanks for letting me know!

I got to 9 lightposts! I feel like this concept has a lot of potential if you polish it up.

I feel like starting with a spark would make it easier to get, also I spent the first few runs trying to light the light on the light bulb part and that didn't work,  so maybe a hitbox that goes higher would make it more intuitive. One other thing I would do is put a limit on the maximum number of enemies that spawn and I feel like having the darkness bar justtt a bit higher would make it a bit better feeling, but difficulty is personal preference. Oh and about the sparks, sometimes I couldn't capture them even when they were in the triangle, they also pushed me around a few times so might be a good idea to disable their collision.

Once I got how to play it was pretty fun, I liked baiting enemies to one side while in the light to create a path through them. Well done! fun entry

I agree with previous commenters starting with light / no timeout before you light it up for a first time would help me a lot with getting a hang for it)

was fun once I got the hang of it! I liked the  cocept!  In a future version if you add an in game tutorial that would help lot, and ramp the difficulty!

Thanks, I appreciate it! It does get harder every 5 times a light is lit (every loop, if you will), but it is pretty subtle.

I think you should start with some light because I thought the blue was the light and was trying to light the post, but I couldn't. Other than that, the game was very cool, and the main character looked cool.

Developer

Honestly, that's a great idea - thanks! With the lack of a tutorial that would have made it much easier to learn the game by trying stuff.

I managed to capture sparks just fine, but couldn't light the lamp. I tried spamming space all around the lamp pole but nothing happened. Did I understand something wrong? I'd like to try again as it sounds like a fun idea for a game.

Developer

hmm - were you trying at the top of the post? While that would make complete sense, you'll need to be next to the base of the lightpost to light it instead.

Looks like that was it, thanks! Now I'll get a bit further than just repeating the first few seconds :D

somewhat fun, controls are nice once you get used to them. didnt have a whole lot of incentive to use the shooting bc i could just outpace the monsters and i had to save my light for the lamps, so id probably suggest capturing light giving a full 4 light charges, and shooting takes one charge and lighting a lamppost takes four. but thats just one idea i had. all in all, fun concept.
