I got to run through this a couple of times using d6 100 as a replacement for the Jenga tower as recommended in the Sailor solo rpg submission here and had some very fun results. One run through was a doubting medical doctor who cruised through the ritual with weirdly lucky easy that felt like a kind of dark comedy where the medical doctor faces an uber powerful demon possessing a politician and the doctor kept pulling the exact right cards and results that the demon just couldn’t seem to make any impact until it ceases to exist in a puff of it’s own illogic.

The next I played as a grizzled old priest and had a much harder time removing the demon and just as things seemed to be going well, two faith pulls rolled a TON of ones leaving only four in the dice pool that held out for like 8 more pulls as test after test failed the poor old guy, ultimately leaving the demon possessing the child fully as the priest is dragged bodily to hell.

Super fun system and being my first attempt at doing a solo RPG in general, it was a very awesome intro to the genre. Highly recommend. Only change I would potentially recommend would be adding a semi transparent text background on a few of the pages where the text is over the images, as while the text is readable, I did find myself having to re-read certain Arcana entries a few times just due to my own ADHD losing my place as I was reading them.

Thanks! I tried to fix the readability issue by darkening a lot of the images themselves, but it may ultimately just make more sense to do what you suggested.

I'm also going to check out the dice system and maybe steal it haha

I kept running out of time to set up the Jenga tower I brought with me and saw the Sailor had suggestions for replacing the Jenga for their game and I really liked the d6 100 as an alternative. Easy macro set up in roll20 and some digital dice made it super convenient.
