The Sinners and Seamonsters Jam is an indie TTRPG game jam celebrating the specific genres of biblical and maritime horror.
From June 1st to July 31st, participants are encouraged to create an indie TTRPG work related to either or both of the jam's themes. Examples of participation include:
- A full game in the genre of biblical and/or maritime horror - Either counts!
- A playbook, character class, or enemy dealing with the themes or supporting a game that does.
- Hacks of existing games that end up in theme with the jam.
- Items, equipment, locations, skills, lore, or other usable game material, for any game on theme.
- No AI-generated art or writing
- This is a game for indie ttrpgs - no video games or visual novels.
- Only use assets and content you know you have the rights to: New School Revolution has a great collection of links for Public Domain Art.
- Submissions must fit the theme: nautical and/or biblical horror.
- Representations of fascism, racism, and other bigotry should be critical representations.
- You have the right to charge for your work!
- Works submitted should be made (or added to / improved upon) during the two months of the jam.
Eligible entries that strike our particular fancy may be given access to a grant fund to help realize their ideas. If you'd like to be considered for the grant fund, please fill out this Google Form. Filling out the form and making something for the jam isn't a guarantee you'll be selected, and there isn't a ton of it, but we're looking to help support a few entries that do particularly cool things in this space. If you're selected for grant funds, we won't police how you use it - We just hope you keep making cool stuff.
