How does your game fit the theme?
“Echoes of Ice” explores the theme of "Loop" by having the player relive short, repeating time segments to solve puzzles and progress. Each “loop” represents a fixed duration in which the player must perform precise actions, such as activating switches, reaching platforms, or interacting with objects. Once the time expires, the player freezes in place, and a new version of the player spawns for the next loop. The frozen versions persist and become part of the environment, allowing players to use past selves as platforms, blockers, or tools, turning time into a gameplay mechanic.

An interesting approach to a puzzle platformer, with pleasant sound and art design! Reminds me of the good old flash games, hahaha.
However, the difficulty and jumping physics are unfortunately not fun, at least for me, because every single small mistake means the end. I needed 10+ attempts for the first level alone, until I finally managed to complete it within the last millisecond. I think if you had a bit more momentum while jumping and maybe a second or two more per level, it would definitely be more fun, but nonetheless, good work!
10+ attempts for just the first level? I guess developer blindness is really showing. Thanks for the rating anyways!
Really unique concept and I think there's a lot of potential for this game. My feedback would be that because of the ice physics and the really fast timer, you basically have to play each explorer's life perfectly or you fail and restart the level. Even on the first level if you fail a single jump, you lose. Perhaps making the game a little more forgiving so players can focus more on the puzzle aspect of the game, which is where this concept really shines! Good game though, you did a good job with the artwork and music.
Thanks for the rating! I guess I forgot that only I as the developer would know exactly how to handle the character controller.
Really fun art and music, cute concept that lends itself well to the theme, but the controls kinda suck.
If either the physics were better, or the player had more time between lives, it could be really fun, but the really slow jump combined with not being able to adjust your momentum midair just kinda kills any enjoyment. :(
Yeah, totally valid criticism. I thought I'd make it more realistic and challenging, though looking back now I've totally overdone it. Thanks for the rating though!
I really like the concept, but I found the lack of momentum frustrating. I couldn't land on the button in level 3 to save my life. I think it would be less frustrating if the player could gain more momentum from a stand still in order to get a little more arc on the short jumps. Really like the art and your implementation of the theme! :)
Thanks for the rating! Yes, I was debating on whether to make the movement more forgiving last minute. I'll keep that in mind for future projects.
