Does the new player start where the previous ended?
It looks like you may exit the field and not being able to come back, and all future spawns are outside too.
The clone spawns where the player started that round.
Also didn't realise about that bug lol
I like this game! I think that there should be a way to have a bit more strategy in this game as you can pass most levels by picking a corner and shooting in every direction. Maybe an enemy that temporarily disables a clone? Or a clone's ability is different from the player ability (e.g, the player is long range but clones are short range)? It's a really interesting concept though!
I didn't realise you could do that strategy to cheese the game lol! We were actually going to have one clone at a time per round, but if we were to continue development for this, then we would definitely consider your helpful feedback!
I WINNED! Great submission, congratulations! The idea was great and, like Soul888 said, there is potential for a really fun game.
My critiques would be that it was not obvious which character I was actually controlling versus a multitude of clones, and only a couple of the clones actually worked, the rest were essentially prop decorations. I would lean into one or the other; so either have all clones shooting or just have the last N clones be on screen and shooting (this limitation could make for some interesting situations for the player and for level design?).
Thank you for your feedback! The clone mechanic was something we’ve never done before so we didn’t have time to polish it, but I definitely agree that there shouldn’t be clones lingering if they don’t do anything.
You did really well then! The clones lingering didn't break the game, which they might have done with a buggy or less robust implementation.
I hope you consider spending more time on it and bringing the idea up to a full release.
Best of luck with the ratings!
Super cute! I would’ve loved the option to mute the music, and upgrades for the character would’ve been a nice touch too — but I totally get that you probably didn’t have time. Keep developing the game, it has great potential to be really fun!
I would have loved to invest more time developing this during the jam and we were thinking about adding upgrades but we had quite a bit going on in our lives. Really appreciate the feedback! :)
