Sorry for my English, I might get some words wrong. And remember, it’s all MY opinion, so don’t take that as a fact!

Creativity (5/5) - To be honest, I did think it was really going to be a platformer with some outer puzzles to finish it, but I was way wrong. It was really surprising to see a full desktop when I quit! The puzzles were cool, and paired well with the 9AM mechanic by not being too slow to complete, so the resets aren’t boring at all. Outstanding!

Enjoyment (4/5) - The puzzles were really cool; the game basically tells you all you have to do while also having a good humor. I just don’t give it five stars because of that same reason. I think perfect puzzles doesn’t have to tell you what to do. Anyway, it was fun to try and get the “right” ending with all correct info (which i did). My favorite detail was that the answers you get depend on what information you see first.

Narrative (5/5) - Alright, you won it. Best story i’ve seen in the jam, you did a full on tragic pandemic and quarentine story. I really enjoyed figuring out what was happening.

Artwork (4/5) - The arts are very cool! You may say you cant draw pixel art, but I liked it a lot. And you nailed the desktop atmosphere. I just think that it could glow a little less, and the question answers are a little crammed up in the background.

Audio (3/5) - The audio is simple, but it works. They up the level of the desktop atmosphere, and the presence of a background music is really pleasing.

Overall (4.2/5) - One of my favourites of the jam. Broke my expectations while also surpassing them by a LOT. You did an amazing job, congratulations!

thanks for playing(and leaving such a detailed review)!!!

Because of the effort you spent on the review, I will try to match my effort on response lol. So here it is:

I’m glad you liked the starting screen twist. During my development, the game felt really generic, and I was afraid my creativity score is going to get dropped a bit. Hopefully the surprise factor could help me :D

I 100% agree with your opinion about puzzle/mystery game. In the start, I was really focused on making all the gameplay I failed to balance out any hints haha. In my playtesting phase,  I think only 1/3 players got an ending after 10 minutes. In order to make the game more appealing to a game jam, I tried to make it so that players can at least get an ending at their first/second loop. I did overdo it a little bit though—I should have added a difficulty selection button.

My design document for the narrative is extremely simple lol. I started off with the ending(idk why but my brain went to the ending first), and just thought about some key parts. Then I just wrote what I thought of in the game’s articles itself, haha.

In the playtesting phase,  I did receive a review suggesting changes to texts in the background. However… I got too focused on testing other developers’ games I forgot about my own game haha. The ui can definitely be improved.

I thought some voice acting for the audio would be nice; however, my own voice is just…a bit unlistenable so I scrapped the idea.

Thanks again!

The game would be a better experience if it has more time, that’s for sure. But for a jam game, you did really well! You might think the idea wasn’t so creative, but I think for this jam it’s kind of unique. Yours is not the only desktop-like game I’ve seen, but it is for sure the best one. Gave me “The Operator” vibes, it’s a really good game IMO with the same vibe.
