The UK Labour party's "Online Safety bill" just got almost all of Britain banned from Twitter to the point where artists aren't able to see their own posts, and the Labour party is pretty far left (but all of Europe seems far left to an American like me). Currently Offcom, the british communications department of the government wants to arrest the heads of some American social media companies, and there's a very high likelihood that they'll be sued into oblivion, because that shit may fly in the UK, but it doesn't fly here. The UK government things they're a bigger deal than they are, but the vassal states are clearly getting too big for their britches.

Ultimately this is a government problem regardless of what side it's from, but the left does have a pretty significant history of attempting to censor adult content. This entire situation with Collective Shout isn't even the first time radical feminists have been radical censors. They were a big problem in the early 2010s and it radicalized a lot of gamers against the left back then, because they were very clearly leftists. When they weren't talking about feminism, racism, or any of the other istaphobias, they were also promoting socialism. I just see this as more of a continuation of all of that.

collective shout is just a scapegoat, and you insisting on somewhat blaming the left despite this affecting both sides is only gonna distract from the main issue. activism over games doesn't change anything, it just makes a new market; games didnt start bending the knee for feminists, they tried selling to them. and clearly you dont know much about eu politics as an american if you think they're all far left LOL

like you're claiming you know more than someone who actually lives in the EU for starters, and the "far left" labour parties of the uk and australia are reputably NOT far left in the slightest, they're only the most left leaning. like there are PLENTY of people on the left who are against the uk's online safety bill too.

also, what I said are all of the EU is to the left when compared to an American, because Americans on average tend to be more conservative. The only exception to this being Eastern Europeans, which tend to be very conservative because their countries were enslaved by communists for nearly 60 years

Also also, you're proving the joke that everyone makes about leftists where "if it's right of mao, they aren't actually to the left". The Labour party of the UK may not be as radically insane as the Green Party, but they aren't leaning left, they ARE left. I'd argue the tories are "leaning left", the Reform Party is "leaning right" and whatever Rupert Lowe decides to do with starting a party or making some form of coalition will be actually right.

Most people trying to ban porn are Christian conservatives and collective shout is a front for these people. the Labour party in the UK is absolutely a leftist party. If they ran as anti trans, and I absolutely don't believe them when they say that because they were the primary supporter of that trans group (mermaids I think it was called), they would've done so because they know it isn't actually supported by the wider population of the UK and they need votes. The Labour Party used to be run by Jeremy Corbyn who was a radical communist that eventually got ejected by the party because of open support of terrorist organizations and anti-semitism. Kier Starmer, the current leader of the Labour Party is a socialist, human rights lawyer who's early career included going to Jamaica to sincerely defend rapists and murderers (and not in a "well its my job as a defense lawyer" kind of way). The only party in the UK that's further left than the labour party are the Greens and whatever party Corbyn and that one crazy lady just started in hilarious fashion where people couldn't even figure out the name of the party (because the website was "myparty" or something like that, and the actual party isn't called that).

Saying that the Labour Party isn't leftwing because other leftists hate them isn't an argument because the left eats itself over purity tests all the time. It's practically the main facet of being a leftist and something the right makes fun of all the time. Walking on eggshells over every issue, just to find out that you're not quite left enough. If I'm not wrong, Jordan Peterson said exactly that to Ethan Klein at one point, and a few years later, he was proven right about that.

You can tie this as well to that essay you linked, because as far as I'm aware, No Mercy was the game that got removed on every storefront over essentially being a game about revenge sexual assault. And while I don't agree with censoring of it, that had nothing to do with the LGBT, and that was also a feminist organization. Regardless of what that groups wider opinion on the LGBT is, it's still another subsect of the left, against other subsects of the left (and others). And a fun fact, because everyone seems to immediately think "Christian = conservatism", there are a lot of incredibly left wing Christians. See the entirety of the Anglican (UK)/Episcopalian (USA) churches, and also the Methodist Church, which eventually had a schism into the Methodist and United Methodist churches over that very distinction.

1. Not only did Kier Stormer make a variety of anti trans stances before the election, the UK supreme court made a ruling about what a women is this year.

2. What economic policy's has Kier enforced that makes him a socialist? Frankly the fact he is the leader after Corbyn is more evidence to him being more to the center since they swung hard one way had to swing the other.

3. The hatred of Labour isn't a purity test, the Labour party famously sold out many of its left leaning beliefs decades ago after thatcher. Thatcher herself said that the shift caused by Tony Blair was one of her greatest victories. Labour hasn't been leftist for decades.

4. U missed the actual part of the essay where they mentioned the connection between collective shout and NCOSE, a religious right anti porn advocacy group from the US that has deliberately renamed itself to get confused with NCMEC. Collective shout is a org that uses the image of feminism to serve the goals of NCOSE. Collective shout is sex negative which should be a major red flag with any "feminist" org since modern feminism is sex positive. seperate reply but i just wanted to point it out, i find it odd how a lot of hentai fans are “radicalised” against the left because of some feminist scare in the 2010s when the right is where the christian conservatives are who are much more against porn and sexuality and anything in between than the left. like sure, you could argue games making women “ugly” is a woke thing, cause we’ve had impossibly beautiful women for decades already (and it really doesnt matter to begin with like the old games with hot babes still exist), but thats only cause the ceos are marketing to that demographic. the people trying to retroactively ban sex and the people who even have the power to do so in the first place is christians, and this whole censorship thing going on right now is their doing, because we’ve been too busy fighting each other over anime boobs to realise that we’re BOTH screwed.

Lol I am a Christian Conservative. I just acknowledge that every human being has a vice and mine happens to be porn. I'm not of the opinion that porn is a good thing, but I also don't agree with censorship because a battle against vices means nothing if it's forced upon others, and it doesn't matter to me who's doing it or for what reason.

What I find incredible is how you deflected on the issue of "attacks on beautiful women in videogames" which was absolutely being done by the left. And whenever someone brought up how they don't like the uglification of characters, they were called gooners and porn addicts by people on the left. So this argument that only Christian conservatives really care about sexuality is completely absurd, because the left has been promoting this abolishment of sexuality in media for a decade now over some stupid premise that it's negatively affecting women or trans people for some reason. Because apparently as much as "body type A/B doesn't matter, why do you care" they get awfully upset when you bring up that you wish it was man or woman/male or female. If it really didn't matter, why would they care. The answer is because it's about power and they want control over the medium. It's as simple as that.

we're getting into super-generalisation territory here so lets stay nuanced, this is my interpretation here:

the left brought up over-sexualisation, so corps marketed to them. uglification is a psy-op to divide us and make the right believe the left wants to erase attractive women completely, whereas the left im apart of is all about self expression and inclusivity, which STILL INCLUDES conventionally attractive people. and the fact "uglification" is a word is the reason why people call them porn addicts, cause it creates the impression that they cant handle when someone isnt a total smoke show. i never said it was only christian conservatives either, i believe its also radfems and puritans, whatever side they're on. its an abolishment of over-sexualisation, which does affect women when it promotes unrealistic and harmful beauty standards. and lastly, i for one believe that its about inclusivity and universality, body type A/B is objective with no room for interpretation. If i was the leader of the hypothetical woke hivemind, it would be for the medium to include more diversity; keeping BOTH, not erasing one for the other. the corps that make these decisions are the ones picking one or the other because it fuels the culture war and divides us further instead of reaching a rational compromise.

neither the left nor the right are the ones making the games, they're just the markets the corps try to profit from.

and one last anti-generalisation statement here: ive seen plenty of people on the left who are fine with hot people existing, and ive seen you who isnt against porn either, so stop trying to make this a left and right issue. folks like you and me from both sides who are fine with porn arent the ones in control, clearly.

i could go futher into a conspiracy theory if you want, but i'll end it here. we're arguing about the wrong things at this point and unfortunately its a spectrum so no one label is all encompassing.
