Heya! A couple notes.

  1. Add a black outline or drop shadow to text. White text against yellow is difficult to read.
  2. Add support for D-Pad. I have an 8BitDo game pad that supports X-Input but doesn’t have a thumbsticks. It looks like a Sega Saturn controller.
  3. Not being able to face north/south limits the character’s manuevability and angle of attack.
  4. Custom binding support would be great. The keyboard controls are extremely awkward.

I love it though. I have fond memories of A Link to the Past and Link’s Awakening and this gives me those vibes. Great work so far! I gave you a donation. Keep it up!

Hi! Omg thank you so much that means a lot to me! :) i'm so happy you enjoyed it:)

Thank you so much for your suggestions. Most of these are on my do to list:)

I will check about the controller you mentioned. The game should work with a ps4 or switch controller. Its like every controller has different mapping so I need to add that.

The player/other sprites are supposed to be only left/right animated. You can still shoot arrows up or down but I can see how it might not suit everyone's expectations.

Anyways pretty much most of your points are on my list and will be on the next update.

Thank you again for playing!

Hi!

I don't know when you read this but I did some research on the controller that you mentioned. So the 8bit do controller is supposed to have a switch/button on the back side so you can switch to xbox/ps4 controls. Then wait a few seconds and it should hopefully work!

If you don't have that option check the manual that your controller came with. It should say something about that.

I hope this is helpful! I will make a note of that on my page in case there is other people who are using this type of controller.

Thanks for looking into it, but mine is the m30, which doesn’t have this switch.

Yeah it is the m30, the one I linked for you. You can find the manual here.

oh thank you so much for the link. This is really helpful!
