i dont seem to be able to use the bow.

i do have a bow and arrow equiped .  it keeps saying no ammunition available for the bow.

(when i equip the spear it does have ammo. most of the time.)

maybe im doing something wrong, not sure. i think its a bug.

nice game.

Oh, when using distance weapons you consume the ammo. You gotta have more arrows in your inventory to use, and Spears will have a small chance to "break", consuming one unit from your inventory too

oh, i see. thanks

so, its 30 gold per shot.

but it is no different from a melee hit. which is free and one handed.

In the early game it really isn't much worth it, but if you look at tibia wiki you will see that in the end game the Distance Weapons get way stronger way faster than other class weapons. Maybe in future updates you'll get to see why the strongest players in the official game are Distance users lol

ok.

to be honest, that doesnt actually sound good. 'way stronger AND faster than other weapons'

call me mr complainy pants :), but -right now its useless, because the ammo costs a ridiculous amount of gold per shot and then later it becomes over powered.

not much choice for the player. i think the ranged needs reworking if its so expensive to use at start and later it becomes the only weapon to use.

since ranged doesnt really mean anything in this game, its just like a melee weapon that makes other weapons obsolete.

I absolutely agree with you.
In the current state of the game, that's how it looks. But I also think that's a self-solvable problem in the future.

When you get to actually choose your class (that happens after leaving Rookgaard in the original game) you kinda have pros and cons to everything.
Paladins, the class using distance weapons, hit WAY harder than other classes, but don't have access to many elements to do so.
Knights have way better survivability against strong monsters and Sorcereres/Druids have elements and AOE damage to compensate.

So yeah, Distance is more like a gimmick in the start and it's overpoweredeness in the end is a perk to compensate for other things

alright. there's one more question i'd like to ask. (i just put on my columbo raincoat)

is there a way to buy 100 arrows in one go? or multiple arrows per click?
