In love with the Lovecraft theme and the unique mechanic! Everyone was literally making cooking mechanic and you came up with something different. This is probably the most unique submission I've played so far. Congrats!

Very stressful, just like those typing tests I'd take in school but also fun & entertaining, unlike those tests! Loved the eldritch elements!

Developer(+1)

yay! thanks for playing!

Love the lovecraft thematic, I thought that at the last level the "cthulhu r'lyeh ph'nglui mglw'nafh wgah'nagl fhtagn" would come out xd.

Excellent art!

Thanks for playing!

We were not sure if we legally could use quotes or characters directly from Lovecraft, so we decided to be cautious :D

Type, fast! Before the chuthulu tentacle arrives! Damn, I've never had to type so fast for my life. The art style is god tier, the music was really good too, it was easy to understand, and it even had a story, very, very impressive. I'm used to typing fast, so I could finish it on my first try, but it was still quite fast. Though more than type recipes, it felt like reciting some sort of cult bible lol.

thanks for playing and typing fast!

The time limit being madness consuming you is a super cool spin on it, love the art also <3

Developer

thanks for playing!

Really nice and polished! I loved it, the last level was hell xDDD

Developer

thanks for playing!

yeah, we wanted it to feel challenging but manageable 🐙

Damn this is so polished! And stressful as hell lol. Loved it.

Developer

thanks a lot! 🔥

OwO love the art! Sadly im terrible at spelling but it was still very fun

Developer

Thanks for playing our game!

We tried to adjust the difficulty dynamically so it would fit any spelling level. The key is to take your time - you can type slowly, but without mistakes, and still win. It's mistakes that significantly increase the madness :D

Excellent graphics, sounds, gameplay and vibes all around. Great choice of texts with both common english and more unusual and difficult words. Awesome revisit of this type of gameplay! Best of luck team.

thanks a lot for the feedback! ✨

Thank you! It's so nice when people notice those small moments we put into the game like including difficult words <3

The style was SO GOOD. Love this theme as a concept and using a typing game was the perfect match for the stress intended. Really helped sell the limitation use. I really liked that the text was also thematic and not just random typing text. The difficulty also scaled well.

Developer

Thanks a lot!

We were afraid that typing games are too unpopular for it to feel nice, but your comment makes me more optimistic ✨

Developer

Thanks so much!

Appreciate the feedback, especially on the difficulty scaling - that was tricky to tune

this was amazing!!! the graphics are insane and the gameplay is super fun and creative, the limitation is perfectly interpreted in this one

great job ppl! :D

Developer(+1)

thanks a lot, we tried our best 🫶

Thank you!! Hearing this feedback is very heart-warming <3

Really nice graphics, audio and overall feel. The only thing I had a problem with was the font - sometimes I had difficulty immediately recognize which letter it is but maybe it's just I'm dumb or something.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, it was a hard decision for us. Picking a font that is clearly readable killed the vibe and also made the game much easier, but some letters in the current font are a bit too hard to read.

Thanks for the feedback!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! We were debating a lot about whether we should keep this font or change it :D

Great typing game !! Feels really oppressive :OO What tool did you use for art ?

Developer (1 edit)

thanks a lot!

Yeah, we tried to make it feel very oppressive. Levels 1-2 are super easy, 3-4 are ok, 5 is very hard.

We also introduced a dynamic difficulty system: the madness bar is basically just a timer (mistakes also steal a few seconds), but it will slightly speed up or slow down to make the level harder/easier, depending on the player's speed. The intention is to make levels manageable for all skill levels, while also being perceived hard.

Art was a combination of a bunch of assets with our minor tweaks (to match the color palette and style) and a few AI-generated assets when our skills weren't enough.

Ooooooh you really went full-on on the whole difficulty scale :O Great job at that I just felt very oppressed, like I had to work for some maniac :OOO Love the game !!!
