Even as a rough draft, there's a lot of promise here already imo. The art is gorgeous and the mechanics work pretty well. The movement does feel a bit sluggish because of the slow acceleration and some hitstun/hitstop on the attack would be nice. But a good start!

Thanks! Yeah, it's my first time working with an actual pixel artist, and his first time making art for games, so we certainly spent a lot of this jam learning some valuable lessons. Isn't his art gorgeous!? But yea, I agree the movement is sluggish -- some of that is the physics, and I think some of that is the animation timing. In general I think there's a lot of tweaking to be done on the movement to get it feeling good, and I look forward to iterating on it -- thanks for the pep talk!
