Here's the VOD from the stream - https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2507922810 (it will stay up for roughly 1 year - I have to delete old VODs every now and then due to twitch restrictions)
Long story short - "Finally, Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii sequel". I really dig the premise, even if it's a bit too ham-fisted every now and then (like the "recovering alcoholic" part), and I do like the spritework - they are very charming. But unfortunately it's an RPGMaker game, and the combat is... an RPGMaker combat. I'm just not a fan.
Generally I prefer to use AOE attack to just get over with them quickly, but from what I can tell - no character has any AOE, at least at the very beginning. And Trauma Points seem to just add to the difficulty.
You definitely tried to innovate on the RPGMaker combat formula, but I dunno, I very rarely vibe with it, and it's unfortunately kinda sours the whole experience. Also - 7 characters, and only 4 (from what I can tell) can gain XP from battle? Uhhh... Does it mean I either have to micromanage the party and constantly rotate them every battle, or do I have to grind? Either way - it doesn't sound fun.
I didn't hate it, and I really wanted to love it - but it's a lovehate kinda relationship where you have to throw dishes at the wall every now and then. I think it may be a legit great game for fans of RPGMaker games, but I'm not one of them.
