I think I don't understand the concept. I get the puzzle-ish platformer using the orb, but don't really understand the usefulness of both states. I believe the blue one slides a little bit, and the red one seems to jump higher, but sometimes it barely jumped, and the blue one jumped higher. Still a nice concept and it was fun to play it!

absolutely, i only had 2 days to both learn my engine and physics engine separately (whilst making a complete-ish game). I had to choose between super refined physics and states but no proper level, or 2 somewhat decent levels and at the very least (somewhat) satisfying gameplay.
Thank you for the feedback, for the next game jam i’ll scope down and use this as a learning opportunity; If you have any advice for how i could have made the states more useful i’m happy to hear it!
I figured, that makes sense. The jams are a great place to learn, so I'm happy to hear it was useful for you! For the states, the gimick of each one could be more impactfull and have "puzzles" that require them or preven them for crossing, forcing you to switch. Something like you already have, but on a bigger scale and more tied to what those states represent, cold and hot, and maybe having only 1 good level with 1 clever way of using the mechanics rather than 3 rushed ones.
