The art direction for this is really great! But I hope a patch comes out soon before I take another stab at playing through it. I've come across a LOT of softlocks and "action number 1" errors, so I can't make any progress past day 3 without it crashing.
for me:
-when i woke up and got a thing through the mail slot i picked it up and it stayed rotating above my head, and stayed there. Escape didn't work and i had to quit. the game doesn't save on my pc so i had to restart.
-then on my third try i had gotten the picture of aisling and xxx with the torn letter. i was running to go see the sheriff/guard at the bar to tell them about the new evidence when it crashed. error below:

The errors I got were similar "action number 1" errors; I can't grab the exact message for the first one, but it triggered after falling down the pit outside of Rory's house when trying to talk to the creature down there. Something about "last day" in the crash message.
On a second run I initially talked to the rat in the basement and couldn't leave past the fountain to the screen with the strawberry. After restarting for a third attempt I picked up the jam ahead of time but once I tried talking to the rat again I got an error reading "could not find node "Reggie the rat got jame".

save file now loads an error directly. i think it got corrupted because i went to alligator's house and tried to grab the flower boquet at the door instead of going to the siblings' basement

soft locks
-i sat in the chair in the dream when i danced with niahm. as the big alligator was zooming off i remained sitting in the chair and couldn't get up to end the dream. -i went into the basement, realized i didn't have the jam, went back to get it, couldn't enter the basement again because the key was already used up.

is there only one ending? do i need to make other decisions to change it? i speedran most of the game to get a working save. "everyone else -- ----" is a bit of a mood whiplash given this is a game where everyone is wearing animal onsies, you can play with a green dog, and dance with some fun guys. like does the unidentified thing i got in the mail have an affect on the game? i never used it.
please add checkpoints saves if possible. i was redoing the game multiple times and then manually copying the three save files into folders.
i like the jumping control, the animation/art/whimsy, the minigames, the mini missions, and the characters, but the lack of explanation for the ending and crashes really hurt the experience for me.
what i mean is separate save file slots so you can go back 2 or 3 saves/minutes if an error gets hit. instead of my having to manually make copies of the save files to go back before an error if i hit one.
i wondered about the ending because nothing about the case seemed to get answered, so i thought i had taken a fail game path. did the arrested person actually do anything or are they innocent? what did the annoying girl take? are the missing people still alive/dead/working together/victims/bad guys/etc? am i supposed to do anything at the light? what's the black stuff?
one last question: does the thing received in siobahn's home mailslot that niahm and siobahn couldn't identify do anything?
