Tried your game, thanks for submitting to the jam.

I really love the whole concept of this and you have implemented some very interesting mechanics here. I was really touched to read that the jam was the inspiration to turn your ideas into a game (I take no credit for that, mind - it was all down to your hard work.)

I also read on the page and also your response to another player that currently the only way to obtain Scrap is to write in the paper. I tried this and couldn't get anything. I tried waiting next to the paper, completing other tasks such as the laundry (great job on that by the way) and even just spammed resting (which did not end well for me) but no scrap.

I'd love to play more but currently I'm stuck. Also whilst I did love it I think the game would have benefitted massively from having some background music or ambience (even weather effect or a lo-fi beat).

As a side note I want to say a big thank you to you personally for being actively engaged in trying other's games, rating them and giving such detailed and useful feedback. It really means a lot to me that everyone's works are being noticed and appreciated :)

Thank you so much for playing and for creating this jam! You may refuse the credit, but the idea likely would have never become what is it without this jam—perhaps something else, but not Louisa's laundry filled world. So, again, thank you.

Regarding the scrap: the writing does eventually earn you scrap, but you have to write enough "pages" to get to the point of being able to submit it. At this point, the thing that looks like a blue trash can accepts your piece, and you get one scrap for every written "page" (every writing interaction at the desk creates a "page").

Since it was a simulation that somehow ended up being close to how poverty can feel, I left the rules for play vague. Perhaps, too vague, however.

And yes! I think some nice music and some tragic weather could be a great addition.

Currently, this is just a beginning. There is no way to progress past the writing and laundry, yet.

After the game jam, I hope to add more: including a plumbing issue that prevents saving until fixed!

Sounds like you've got some great ideas in the pipeline (unintended and awful pun there).
