The game's concept is pretty great. The boost was a neat touch. The renewable energy theme is also great, with the characters using solar panels to recharge their health, almost like oxygen tanks. did encounter a bug where if I jumped and dashed at the same time, I got stuck in the sky, but aside from this bug, the game runs smoothly.  The mechanics feel great and the dialogues a nice touch. Overall, it's a relaxing experience.

Thank you for playing.

as for the bug, at what level did that happen? and is it like you can't move at all? or is it that the player character animation is stuck on falling, if it's the former, then I'll look into it because I did encounter a similar bug in Susurrae, if it's the latter, that seemed to happen when the player is falling but close to the ground, usually at the start of the level, jumping again would fix it.

Loved the game!! The sound effects and graphics were really cute. I think the game was just the right amount of challenging! I think I spent like 15 minutes alone in the cave section haha, but I don't think that's a bad thing; it kind of made me HAVE to get good in order to succeed, which is a quality I enjoy in games. The movement was pretty decent; though I found myself trying to make inputs to counteract or makeup for the momentum on the character on occasion. The dash felt good to use! Only small nit I'd say is I kind of wished the cracked platforms would respawn after some time.

I think the platforming level design and the puzzles were the best part of this game! I found them perfect for the graphics and movement style, and overall enjoyable. The levels were also made to almost perfectly match the amount of power you had in each scene. I like the intuitive style the game has in teaching you the mechanics; it felt very natural and the world had parts designed that clearly indicated how to use a given mechanic going forward. I also loved how there were different mechanics like the cracked platforms, buttons / doors, and the energy cells. Collecting the relics were also fun!! I got 9/11 and completed with a time of 33:37

No spoilers, but love the environment at the end and who you meet!!

(idk how itch.io's comment system works so I may be cross-posting my comment I left on the main page on the submission page?)

So glad that you enjoyed it and happy that you love the level design and platform challenges.

I really liked the concept of a photovoltaic human society. I liked the aesthetics and the music was quite pleasant.

The beginning was pretty easy and once the MC falls to the pit and you realize that darkness can kill you it actually becomes a puzzle-platformer that kinda feels like a souls-like just because you can die a lot :)

Some minor improvements : some little bugs here and there (the first time I tried to talk to the MC's friend I got stuck and had to restart) and I wouldn't have set up jumping with WASD but on the space bar and the power slide to a shift button, that's my personal preferences, I struggled with some of the challenges because of it.
Overall I had fun playing it! Kudos :)

Developer

thank you for your comment and happy to hear that you like it.

As for the improvements, how I set it up is that you have to stand still at a certain distance before the interaction could appear, I actually did this to counter the bug of interacting with characters while moving, it ends up with the player still moving while dialogue is being played, I think next time I should have the interaction appear to let the player know that they can interact but only have the activation working when they are standing still. That way it works in both ways.

as for the controls, using 'Space' to dash and W/Up arrow to jump is my preference. If I develop this game further, I might need to figure out a way to change the controls for those who prefer other ways to use the keyboard. But thank you for pointing this out

This was a fun little platformer! You have some decent ideas in here for platforming features and the idea of having to recharge is of course well fit for this theme. I struggle with platforming on WASD, wish I could progress dialogue without the mouse, and I hit a couple of bugs along the way (was getting stopped by the falling blocks, and in one level was dying before I hit zero). I think this could be cool with further development.

Thank you for the feedback, happy that you enjoy it.

You can progress dialogue without the mouse, you can either use the mouse or the space bar to progress dialogue. I also include arrow keys as an alternative controls for those who use arrow keys instead of WASD.

I did found out about getting stop while running on the platform, sometimes it works sometimes you get stop because you are in-between the holes, I thought it was more of a way for the player to think quickly, when it happens to me, I use jump constantly.

As for 'dying before hit zero,' I might look into it, I did set it so that if it's below 1, then it's game over, not at 0, this is due to how in some instance the health gets to 0.8 instead of 0.

but I did the best I can
