The game for sure looks interesting. I also couldn’t get past finding the toolbox because opening the inventory didn’t work as Kordesii also pointed out. I feel the camera feels a bit slow too. The aesthetics do look pleasing!

Thanks for the comment. Let me see if I can recreate it. Can you tell me, when you had the toolbox in inventory, were you trying to use it on the big ball or the broken handle in front? (The handle is in the dark so easily missed.) If you click on the handle after getting the toolbox, you should see a toolbox icon next to the "Look" icon on the broken handle; you should then be able to click on that to use the toolbox to fix it. If that is what you tried, then there is an unfortunate game-breaking bug.
