Speedran it down to 53.24 seconds. I challenge anyone to try to beat my time.

I get that it was 72 hours, but I still think that you should introduce mechanics gradually. Not even throughout different levels, just one is fine. Maybe if you choose to battle the first rat, it explains a little bit about the atk and def mechanics. Felt more of a puzzle game than an rpg though, which I think is fun. Good job.

That's a good time! I'm curious to see what route you took.

Your feedback about gradually introducing mechanics is great.

I agree that this is more like a puzzle game disguised as an adventure game. That's what I was going for. I like games that are deterministic. The idea was to make several levels like this where you get to figure out how to make it to the end, but there are many different ways to do it. I only had 1 full day to work on the game, though.

Thank you for taking the time to really explore my game and provide thoughtful feedback. It means a lot to me. I look forward to playing your game as well and hope to repay the favor in kind.

My route was:

Chest over rat -> Viking (with the iron helm) -> Free chest over ogre, and equip the shield -> Kill the crab (but not take the heart yet) -> Do hits on the paladin until 1hp -> Grab the heart from the crab -> Kill the paladin with 19 def

Edit: got a 44 when recreating this run ;)

Niiiiice!!
