  • Really enjoyed playing! It was super addictive and I do love a fishing game, even if the fish were well y'know. Fren would absolutely fish like that :) really awesome
  • This was great! I really liked the boss skeleton at the end, plus I loved how Fren leaves behind a skeleton when he dies. Thanks for submitting!

Just me!

How does your submission fit the theme?
I mean, you resell bootlegs back to a bootleg man. The gameplay itself has no tangible theme of bootlegging or creating bootlegs, but the idea of making extra cash on second hand low effort screamed Bootleg to me. Plus it's a mishmash of alot ot different gameplay elements ( like mario swimming, sonic air bubble breathing.. etc) but idk if that counts. Most / all sounds are sourced from other games too, as well as some graphics. Also, i just kinda crammed a bunch of bootleg things that i found on google and old references and stuff. LAWL

Hi! I would like to rescind my criticisms of the difficulty from before because Joel's streaming it right now and as far as I can tell, for whatever reason, the air meter when I was playing was dropping like three or four times faster than his is on stream, like it was barely possible for me to get to the first air bubble and back without dying, but on stream Joel just went straight down, grabbed a 15, and rose to the surface with like half of it left - obviously we're well after the jam now, but I thought I better update that upon seeing how the game is MEANT to play

No idea why it played the way it did for me

THAT IS A HUGE BUMMER :( i am so sorry that your gameplay was hindered by a silly bug. I will say the game is held together with glue and paperclips and duct tape, so i am sori that u are the victim of Glitch. it happens to the best of us. 🫶 you are still.... a super mario to me

Really fun game, reminded me a bit of this Mario Party Minigame where you jump into the ocean, grab a chest and try to get out with that.

Very fun and nice, loved the sell mechanic. Nicely done!

I really liked this game, also the font you chose is peam, one of my favorite fonts. I think a little balance tweaking, maybe an earlier level of air tank to help the very start feel less stressful, and it would be awesome!

Developer

it's definitely one of my favorite fonts too. thank you so much a for to playing my game!!!!!!! ❤️

Fun little game, kinda wish it wasn't so CBT at the start when you're basically waiting around until you can afford the air tank, but otherwise cute and enjoyable and all that other juicy stuff

ouuugh that's what i was Super trying to avoid. i thought the ease of Glove/ Bag upgrade access would make it easier for you to obtain funds via having the strength ( and space ) to make alotta money at once. your honesty is very much appreciated though 🫡 thanks for playing buddy

i think the main problem i was having was the air capacity, it seemed the only item i could access was the shallowest one on the left, anything lower than that and i just didn't have enough air to make it back up in time, even with the bubble generator right there - i might've just got insanely unlucky with the bubble spawns or something or maybe it was possible but super precise, but the effect in the end was that i kinda just had to wait for that one i could safely access to respawn to grab and sell. i'm still not sure if the game was supposed to work like that honestly, it felt like there might've been something weird on my end or i was just playing it wrong lmao

again, that's an otherwise small nitpick in a game that is mechanically very fun, and has really cool ideas behind it, big fan of the selling system with the increasingly difficult combo for the multiplier and of course it's funny to see which bootlegs you've managed to fish up - i don't mean to lay into one small point when there's so much to praise here

no, i really do implore the criticism (if it could even be called that) . i'm my own worst critic when it comes to things that i was just wasn't able to tweak correctly in time, its assuring that others also see the issues. it makes me wanna do it better next time... and my homies seemed to have little trouble when i tweaked the oxygen tank to be a little more generous so i didn't consider making it.. even More generous, yknow? it was also really hard to decide whether i wanted the items to rapidly pop in and out of existence, but my other friend said it took them out of the experience a little.. so i finessed an off screen spawn system to make the "finding" portion a little more believable and less janky looking.. so that was probably what you were experiencing when you kept having to get the ones at the top of the screen instead of lower.

ah, but such is the nature of the game jam. you win some you lose some. thank u for the depth of your analysis it is greatly appreciated and i will duly note it for future projects!!!!!! you are a SUPER PLAYER

Funny, simple, cute, exactly the kind of work I like to see from a GameJam. Great work!
