just a friendly suggestion...

I just wanted to give a friendly reminder to give GOOD feedback on every game you play. I've seen way to many comments that say "good game" or the like, but never give any useful feedback. Don't be afraid to tell someone what you didn't like about their game and why you didn't like it. The "why" you didn't like it is important too. It doesn't help to be told there's a problem but not be told what the problem is. In my experience (not much) comments that tell you what you did wrong are 10x more useful than comments that tell you what you did right. So in recap every time you play a game, give the dev something, anything that they can use to improve their game or make themselves a better dev.

Here's my format that I use when writing comments. The way you write your comments is completely up to you, this is just me giving an example:

1. Open with what I liked most. list 2-3 things

2. list 1-2 things I didn't like

3. explain why I didn't like those things

4. (optional) give a potential fix for those things if you think you know a good way

5. tell them good job. cause any dev who managed to submit a game deserves it.

P.S. WHATEVER WHATEVER WHATEVER WHATEVER you do DON'T be that one guy who spam comments a rate request on every game without playing or rating the game.

Wise words!

Thanks for sharing this.

I'm trying to get better about this. I think in the reverse, devs shouldn't take the criticism too personally either. Everyone had 3 days to make a game, nobody will make something flawless in that time.

This is the only way any of us are going to get better. We have to be good at taking feedback, both good and bad, in order to improve our game and ourselves. This is a great comment and everyone should take note.

.. and if I may ..as a gamedev for your own entry upload a YouTube video with a gameplay. In this way you can help see what is it in the game and give an idea to whoever cannot play (minimum requirements, different OS, etc)

Nice idea! As a Mac user myself there's a good portion of the games that i can't play so it would be nice to at least see the game.
