It's your game, but that feels like something really important to just ignore, no? For an optimal playing experience, would you not want to be invested in as many of the followers as possible? It is really unfortunate, I'm probably going to refund it on Steam. That isn't even supposed to be like a threat or anything, I just don't really jive with Cuckoldig/Pimp stuff, but it's semi-required for certain aspects of the game if I want to play the game how I want. There probably should've been a setting to turn off NSFW/Lewd actions for Courtesans, would've been a simply fix, but that's coming from a guy with no dev experience so maybe I'm wrong. Regardless, it's genuinely unfortunate because I really liked the look of this game, but if there's no work around for something as simple as this, then it's just not for me.
Wish you luck on all current and future projects.
Not to belabor Regis12's point, but to provide additional perspective:
Ravager, a game about being an evil dragon, had a similar issue where a minor named character you meet in the prologue had so many requests for content that she, at some points in development, had as much content as the planned companion characters. The difficulty with any romantic/eroge game that involves characters like this is that they will be someone's favorite or even become surprise breakout stars.
Afaik, you didn't make the choice of forcing someone into the role of courtesan after introducing them as a potential love interest. More broadly, however, the nature of lewd games that allow multiple romantic partners is that there are players that are going to take the harem approach and refuse to give out anyone. It's the catch 22 of the genre. As a creator, you don't want to have underdeveloped characters, but the more you develop a character, the more likely they end up in the group of "I don't want to give them up because I don't want to miss the content associated with them."
Your choice, ultimately, if you want to cater to that. Still. I thought it might explain the perspective in a different way for your consideration in current/future projects.
