Those are good points, Regis12. But I suppose it's a matter of perspective. Personally, I never thought of a courtesan's duties as cuckolding the player. Traditionally, a cuckold is someone who is aware his wife is being unfaithful to him, but can't do anything about it; he is powerless, and often isn't allowed to have sex with his own wife.

But in this game, if a woman is a courtesan, it's because the player has instructed her to be one. The player is in control, he asks her to do this, and the woman brings back the money that results from it. Plus, the player can have sex with her afterward if he likes (and if they're in a relationship). So, if anything, I see the player more in the role of a pimp rather than a cuckold.

Also, be aware that if there's a special someone you really don't working as a courtesan, you can always assign them to other duties (even if coaching them is required), and then leave the courtesan work to those followers you're less invested in.

Thanks for playing!

It's your game, but that feels like something really important to just ignore, no? For an optimal playing experience, would you not want to be invested in as many of the followers as possible? It is really unfortunate, I'm probably going to refund it on Steam. That isn't even supposed to be like a threat or anything, I just don't really jive with Cuckoldig/Pimp stuff, but it's semi-required for certain aspects of the game if I want to play the game how I want. There probably should've been a setting to turn off NSFW/Lewd actions for Courtesans, would've been a simply fix, but that's coming from a guy with no dev experience so maybe I'm wrong. Regardless, it's genuinely unfortunate because I really liked the look of this game, but if there's no work around for something as simple as this, then it's just not for me.

Wish you luck on all current and future projects.

I'm sorry to hear that aspect of the game is making it difficult for you to enjoy the experience, Regis12. But I do thank you for checking out the game & giving it a try anyway. Best wishes to you.

Not to belabor Regis12's point, but to provide additional perspective:

Ravager, a game about being an evil dragon, had a similar issue where a minor named character you meet in the prologue had so many requests for content that she, at some points in development, had as much content as the planned companion characters. The difficulty with any romantic/eroge game that involves characters like this is that they will be someone's favorite or even become surprise breakout stars.

Afaik, you didn't make the choice of forcing someone into the role of courtesan after introducing them as a potential love interest. More broadly, however, the nature of lewd games that allow multiple romantic partners is that there are players that are going to take the harem approach and refuse to give out anyone. It's the catch 22 of the genre. As a creator, you don't want to have underdeveloped characters, but the more you develop a character, the more likely they end up in the group of "I don't want to give them up because I don't want to miss the content associated with them."

Your choice, ultimately, if you want to cater to that. Still. I thought it might explain the perspective in a different way for your consideration in current/future projects.

Thanks for your feedback & perspective, mrguymiah.
