Definitely an interesting and original concept for a Kaiju encounter. I loved the retro artstyle and the music. And nice work using the secondary theme in an interesting way.
Only thing I could suggest would be having some satisfying "scoring" sounds when your followers go up.

Really glad to hear this, I was hoping to put it in a setting you normally don't see kaiju stories play out!
I'm planning a 'quality of life' kind of update to fix some things from feedback we've gotten and I'll definitely be adding sound effects to make the gameplay more satisfying!
