How does your game fit the theme of the jam?
The necklace the Protagonist wears is a ring. The ring symbolizes the world their favorite mythical hero carried, and they wish to follow in their footsteps. The ring cracks as the mounting pressure and exhaustion wear their body down over time.

Very punchy and satisfying combat overall, but that boss was impossibly hard. Felt like he wasn't losing health at all, and I had to give up. But, good start!

Thanks for the checkpoint system!  Very fun combat mechanics, it felt like there was a lot to each engagement.  The boss is indeed very difficult!  Using the mousewheel for different attacks was fun.

I'm not sure if I missed some mechanic, or if the difficulty is just tuned too high, but I could not beat the boss. I could get him stunned, sometimes, but he'd fly too far away to chain any other hits into before he got back up, and I was doing barely any damage.

It sounds like you're planning to keep working on it, and if so, I'll be interested in where it goes. Seems like it has some potential.

Rough, but I liked it. Theme really only integrates with the story, but that story is solid and uses the theme in an interesting way, although its a little hard to follow without reading your description. The graphical style is MS Paint style, but to me it feels more of a compromise than as an artistic choice, although it doesn't drag the game down. Gameplay is really fun once you understand the mechanics, but there's some little details missing, like enemy death sounds or any indication of where you're getting hit from on the HUD. I also pretty easily blew past the tutorial sections without fully understanding the mechanics, which gave me some trouble with the boss first time through, but mostly on me.

It's a fun shooter, I liked combining attacks with the sword and the gun. The end fight was very difficult, but it was cool to figure out a strategy.
