See, as an American, they say the trick is to add butter to make a creamy sensation but that just makes the mashed potatoes worse for me. I don't think I can handle it with bread either. I don't mind mashed sweet potatoes/yams/taro but for some reason the regular russet just makes me recoil in disgust. I will rather die than go into that prison you created. Give me the chair because mashed potatoes are nasty period.
