How did you choose to implement the Theme: Realm of Nightmares in your game?
The player is stuck in a nightmarish place and she needs to find her way out. It's like she's in a different realm...of nightmares.

Did you implement any of the optional Bonus Challenges, and if so, which ones?
Land of dreams and a little bit moths, but not as many moths as I'd like.

I really liked your character design, but environment seems too bright to me (though maybe it's only to me + maybe that's your idea, idk). I can't say if it is a  unique implementation of the  theme or not,  because I heard about the "Lift Ritual" urban legend for first time.
Overall: pretty interesting!

Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback and you taking your time to play it. :)

Very unique take on the themes for the jam!

Loved the artwork and the soundtrack as well, I didn't leave the menu for a bit because I was digging the track that played.

Beind the dum dum I am, I completely missed the instructions on how to beat the simon says game that you posted on the main page and I got a bit frustrated. I eventually figured it out though, so all good!

Also really digging the emo aesthetic of the protagonist and it was interesting discovering what each floor had on them, I honestly was not expecting floor 9's design! Cool stuff!

I liked the uniqueness to the story, and it was fun seeing what each floor offered. The designs of the characters on floor 9 were gnarly lol. I think there should be a little more direction for the player - at least at first..

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I was thinking about that, adding more direction. I wrote numbers on the walls to show the important floors but I also didn't want to make it too obvious, like hand holding. So I need to figure out a nice in-between. But again, thank you, I appreciate it! I'm glad you liked it. :)

The artwork is the best part, you wouldn't guess it was made with RPGMaker at first glance. Love the monsters' desings and how you use an elevator as a sort of hub location (I have a soft spot for spooky elevators). Hoping for a post-jam update.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a bunch! I'm glad you like it. I hate elevators lol, but creepy elevators are definitely fascinating. :)

Games made in rpg maker that aren't the usual rpg style are very close to my heart. Add some beautiful graphics and an excellent soundtrack, spiced with a very eerie story and you get Retelova (Scrambled elevator!)

I like how each demon has a different challenge for you, the only thing I'd suggest is I lost a lot during the sequence game because it didn't work with my mouse. I figured later I had to use the keyboard to play, so maybe disable the mouse? Other than that, it was a really nice experience! I'm sometimes wary of rpg maker games because they tend to feel repetitive or cookie cutter but this one definitely broke the mold. I hope you work more on the story and how these dreams (nightmares?!) are tied to the disappearances.

Really nice job!

Developer

Thank you! I really appreciate this comment, I worked a lot to try to not make it generic rpg maker, so thank you! And I didn't even think about people who use their mouse on the sequence game, so I will definitely make a note of that and do some changes. That game seems to be causing a lot of problems lol. I'm also definitely going to work more on the story too. Again, thank you very much and I'm glad you liked it. :)
