Downloadable version seems to have a memory leak, my console is filled with a couple thousand of these after running the game for a while:

ERROR: Texture with GL ID of 2161: leaked 5460 bytes.

at: ~Utilities (drivers/gles3/storage/utilities.cpp:77)

I believe those are printed when the game closes. I read up on it a bit--your OS cleans up any leaks on its own. Lucky me!

Edit: Anyway, that looks like an Engine thing. I wouldn't know where to begin to fix that

Ah you are right, I watched it more closely and it does only do that when the game closes! Though now I have a different problem, my CPU gets very close to overheating once I start using rage juice :(

I was unable to run it for an extended time without my CPU throttling.

Turning off animations largely fixed it.

The game is probably not optimised yet...

Sorry to say, but turning off animations only hides the AnimatedSprite2D nodes. It doesn't change any other calculations. So that cannot be what fixes whatever problem you're having

Try enabling both Critical flying texts only and Consolidate flying texts. If you are still having performance issues, disable Flying texts.

I already turned off flying text and animations before even getting to rage juice, so it’s not any of that. I am pretty sure it has something to do with the progress bar animations, because performance improves by a lot once I buy out most of the available upgrades.

That tracks! For most code in the game, I have reduced a lot of instantiation of nodes, which is creating new nodes. The bar animations have yet to be converted. I was going to implement a better, tween-based animation strategy instead of creating new nodes out of the suspicion that it is bad on performance. I'll bump that up my priority list and reply when it's uploaded
