nice game! I think the controlls are a bit silly but once you get em they're alright :)  The bosses are fun and I like that if one is too hard you can beat a few others and then come back to it with more scissors in your arsenal!

I am not a big fan of the controls, but I see what you were going for, to me they lack some fluidity and it's a weird setup for me, my brain expects left click to move and right click to attack, while having spacebar to dash.

I think this game needs tutorial level, somewhere to get a hold of the controls as a bit of a playground, with an easy boss so that you can get used to the game without going straight to facing the actual bosses. But probably you weren't able to do this due to time constraints.

The bosses are really well designed, both in artstyle, which is really cool what this game has btw, but also in attack patterns, they require precise movement which is why I think you went with the click to move approach instead of WASD, that's a good thing but again, don't know if many players are used to this type of movement, I only somewhat know this because I've played Lost Ark, and even then, I had to look at the description to know how to move.

Love the lore, I just would like a way to skip it for when I load the game again, I see you have a fast scroll option if I hold left click, but I think a proper skip button would help.

Overall good game, very impressive, I saw this game is an entry to four game jams, extremely impressive how you pulled that off. It just needs a way to introduce players to the movement and let them experiment around before facing the bosses and maybe polishing the controls to be more fluid.

I like the visuals a lot, the animations are really professional, and the move and overal mechanics are really nice, reminds me to Hyper Light Drifter and other great games, so well made!! I rate graphics, fun, control and music the most but all is great, also, if you have time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!

The bosses were really well designed, all the visuals and sounds worked really well together and make a really polished game. The only minor inconvenience is no option to switch to WASD, but after some practice the control scheme became muscle memory too. Overall, good take on the theme and good job!

Very fun game! Controls seemed really strange and tricky at first, but with practice I got the hang of them and beat all the bosses too :D I really like how you crafted a story for your game and the art and music were really great. I actually quite liked the controls, yes they were hard, but they gave the game a unique way to play and I really enjoyed that. Good job with the game!

Your game os very polished and fun! I really enjoy the gameplay and the bosses!

Pixel art is really well made and there's a lot of juice going on. I don't particularly liked the movement controls at first, but after playing a bit I started getting the hang of it and enjoyed a lot the different boss fights. Good job!

Great sprites and fantastic music! Love the lore as well! Moving and dodging with RMB took a bit to get used to, but it definitely made the game feel more unique. Great job!

YOO this the GDKO one! love the art, the controls may take a lil time to get used too but overall really good

Fun for the little bit I played it.  I personally don't think the controls are an issue, if you've played a MOBA you know how to play this, though a WASD option would be good for those that want it! Sprites are fantastic, and the music, while simple, is fitting. The only thing I have to say is that your camera should be parented the character, not the scissor pointer, I got fairly motion sick from that. Great job!

Great work on art and general atmosphere.

I'm another WASD enjoyer, so I guess I don't need to say anything about the controls :D But well, game isn't that hard and pretty beatable with the mouse,  just a bit more difficult.

I wish there would be more attack patterns for bosses, like some homing projectiles or some bosses could be oriented on melee combat, otherwise some bosses are a bit too similar to others.

P.S. For controls, you can check V-Rising. This one is great example how controls can be, if you are using non-target system to fight, and in some sense it is similar to your game, cuz there many boss fight too in bullet hell-ish style.

hey! Thanks this is very helpful! 💗🫡
the limited boss patterns are cause of the time constraints, I should not join 4 jams at a time, LESSON LEARNED 😅
also yeah for some reason melee attacks are hard for me but I'll make sure to make something like that at future jams maybe with parry system too.
I've been meaning to play V rising too, maybe this is the sign Thank You again!

Love the artstyle and overall execution. Great job there.

But the movement is really hard to get used too, especially as a left-handed person. If you add some numpad support that would help out quiet a lot but I have never been a fan RMB movement...

Developer(+1)

Thank you, damn I never even thought about left handed, I guess WASD is the new norm now, I should implement more dynamic movement system in my next jam or maybe study more about rts controls and how they approach this topic, Good Day and Thank you 💪 💪 💪

Ok, i decided to give this game a second chance, since now i understand how this whole game jam works. I've already told about art - i liked it. But movement controls with a mouse are not intuitive, i see you wanted to add some old school rpg style, but i'm not sure that combined good with such dynamic gameplay. Also your attacks have no impact on your enemies. It would be cool if they stunned at least for a second, no, they are just spamming without letting you to take a breath. About music and sfx - where? Throat singing and "pew pew" are not enough.

Conclusion: I had fun while playing it, but some changes would make this game better, at least for nit-pickers like me. I see you tried hard on this game, but some gameplay decisions make player just suffer. If you want to continue working on this game, take some notes. I wish a good luck for you and your projects.

Developer

Thank You,

this is how criticism works, you don't like something you suggest changes, you don't need to even to make a lengthy comment about it just say "movement sucks, WASD would be nice" that's it.

I'll check yours tonight, sorry for popping off.

Nice job and I like the sound effects especially. It creates a good atmosphere and I like the mechanics but I'd like to have a dashing mechanic to be able to deal some damage over the enemy when you're passing through and the camera movement that is fixing over the scissor is kind of making motion sickness and an option to lock on player would be a good choice but overall a good game, Congratulations.

Developer

Thanks! I really didn't know that dashes should have no i-frames, I'll make sure to remember next jam.
and also yeah the camera thing is one of my kryptonite, I want it to be dynamic but at the same time consistent, maybe I should add lock camera attack feature next time too.
this is very Helpful, have a good night!

Very nice game, great job! I loved you art style. My only critique are the controls, which don't feel very intuitive (you have to use the mouse both to aim and move).

Developer

Thanks! 💗😊, the controls is inspired by Dota 2. thanks for the feedback 💪
