Usually it seems abandoned, but actual the dev has only very (very) big iterations of deployment. And, no, the progress is the same like 2,5 years ago, but he icreased the image quality since then a lot (it was the last update).

Like two years ago, Komisari plans to finish it. But almost no one really knows when this day will come. Maybe on Discord there are some more details about it, but the ETA is unknown.

I see, thanks for the heads up! I played this game in 2020, then played it again in May of this year when the dev released that snow event after almost 3 years, leaving us in the dark. For me that was the end of the line, I don't even hold this game in high regard anymore, I just visit from time to time to see if the game continues or has died.

The Trello board that he uses goes through extended periods of zero updates, then a dump of about 20 or so, then nothing again. It seems work is still ongoing, but only when the dev decides to actually sit down and focus on it for a couple of days.

Thats indie development for you, some are fast, some slow, some have bigger teams, some small. Remember that only 1 person is working on the project, and he goes at the pace that works best for him. If you work too much you get burned out and sometimes thats when they abandon it for good, so I hope he continues to do whichever avoids burnout, I'd love to see the game be finished someday

Sorry, I don't want to be the one to be a pain in the ass here! but I know how it is, game development, especially indie development. But what happened with this game here was much more than just a developer delay. From the end of 2020 until the snow event update that happened at the beginning of the year, if I'm not mistaken, it was April Fools' Day. the developer of this game kept making mistakes messing around about the ETA of the game update, leaving a lot of people in the dark. it got to a point on the f95zone forum, that the dev was being accused of being a scammer. and he rarely showed up there, that is, there was no transparency from the dev.

I know that working too much on the game causes burnout, but it's much more serious than that. I think that after what happened, when the dev got burned by me and other fans, the dev learned to be more transparent with his projects. In fact, I know some games and devs who, even though they're just guys making their own games, manage to be more punctual with updates than the HHG dev. I'm far from being the annoying guy here, more of a critical opinion here.

I don't know, you can call me annoying. But after years of being in the dark following this game, and several comments on the f95zone website saying that he was a scammer because he simply messed up the game's update ETA. It made me indifferent to this game. If it ends in the future, okay, great. But if it gets abandoned, well... life goes on! Because I don't hold this game in high regard anymore.

Its understandable to question things after long periods of no major updates alot of people have said similar things. Over the time I've followed HHG I understand that he has changed a ton of things with chapter 1, like planning to have 7 chapters, then 4, then planned to release entire chapters at a time, then talked about releasing chapter 1 in multiple parts. Hes also gone back and redone most things multiple times because he wasn't satisfied with the end result, hes also improved massively since 2020 as far as graphics, animation, custom assets and UI and scenery goes. The whole project is a pretty ambitious learning experience for him from what I've seen, which is why I discourage others from pressuring him to rush things.

Right now as far as I'm aware he wants to put out chapter 1 as a huge update that easily doubles the overall content if not more, and then start releasing smaller updates more frequently afterwards

Hello. Please go back to F95 and try to filter MY posts.

I was 100% active in that community, posting almost every day, answering to everyone. Even to the point of posting pictures, gifs and etc to proof that I am working on the game. But the same group of people kept and kept bothering day after day, and they are still probably there telling every single one that I'm a scammer. That's why I stopped posting there.

As I said, I would suggest filtering my posts and checking when I was more active to see everything. I'm extremely transparent on everything. You can come to discord and ask me ANYTHING and I will answer.

Hero's Harem Guild is not abandoned.

yep, I've been following your thread on the f95zone forum for a long time, I just muted it... due to the awful times the game has been going through, where even you stopped responding.

Anyway, so the cycle begins again. I'll keep that bit of optimism that one day I'll be pleasantly surprised by an update, but otherwise I'll keep checking in effectively.

I admit I'm glad to hear you've gone back to the old plan of just one major update.

It's fine. I've indeed been delaying the game repeatedly. And it's okay if people are suspicious. I understand that.

One day, you will come back and there will be an update, that, I hope, will break any expectation.

them, I wish you all the very best in your project!

Is there at least a timeline for when the sequel will be released?
