the game seemed to drop most of my inputs but i will asume that was unity's fault

overall this felt a bit frustrating i would get to a few presses away from the next bit and then a cube would spawn and ruin the whole thing for me i would recomend makeing antivirus make the boxes take longer to spawn rather than take less clicks

The fact that it didn't take most of your inputs isn't unity's fault, it's mine. I INTENTIONALLY added this mechanic. Let me explain how it works, and why it exist:

The game remembers your inputs, and may decide to ignore them if you have pressed a key too recently (or if it is a special key like CAPS_LOCK, F4 or ESC).

I know this can be frustrating sometimes (and believe me when I tell you that I spent a lot of time making it as little frustrating as possible), but it is done to avoid things like autoclicking and button spam. (that it's not the style of play that I want my players to experience)

Please also keep in mind that the rhythm of writing (and, therefore, the time that must pass for a key to be unintencionatly pressed again) is different for each person, but I cannot simply add an option that allows the player to adjust their writing rhythm: It would make this mechanic useless

I general fount that, when try to mash the same keyboard keys, people they are divided into three main categories, each whit two variants (one handed and two handed):

  • Ony key typer: this type of guy press always the same key.
  • Two key typer: this type of guy alternates between two keys.
  • Three key typer: this type of guy alternates between three keys.

If you see that it is not taking the most of your inputs, simply try vary more the keys you press...

Please try to understand...

I know that viruses (the cubes) are TOO annoying... There is already an Antivirus power up, but i know the powerup feels weak  in front of the power of viruses...

It already does that (maybe I should have buffed the effect a little bit more... As now,the effect it's not really noticeable...). The antivirus:

  • Weaks the virus power (They remove less points from you. However, considers also that they become more powerful progressing with the game...)
  • Reduce their life points
  • Increments the spawn time by a little bit (the spawn cooldown it's random, so it's really hard to notice)

I hope this did not ruined your gaming experience too much... Thank you for playing my game...

i hope i did not come off as to mean overall i think the game was decent i was super tired and kinnda grumpy at the time

i think you shouldn't worry about autoclickers or macros if players use them they know its not how you intended and for a game jam game were players will only play for a few minutes i think they probably wont bother setting up a macro

Don't worry, you haven't been mean.  I just wanted to clarify how the game works, and when I do, I start talking non-stop, making people seem like I'm mean myself or that I'm offended (or something like that), when in fact I'm not.  I apologize if I it seemed like that.

I understand perfectly, I made many mistakes during this game development (viruses, badly explaining it, etc.).  When I added this feature I thought it was a good idea, because as I said before, I didn't want people to always click the usual buttons to continue, it's simply not the way I wanted the game to be played (The idea that you could use it  an autoclicker came to me only after I delivered the game to the jam, prevent it was never my main focus). This small choice may seem unimportant, but in reality it greatly affects how people play my game, So fixing it right now seemed the right thing to do...

Maybe I should have handled it differently (although there weren't many different ways to manage it), and I can understand that for some people it may seem frustrating, but frankly I don't think that varying the keys that you press every now and then is so difficult...

Please understand...
