Kickstarter backers will get KS-exclusive updates with their one donation for the whole development period. Patreon-backers have to renew each month to keep getting the Patreon-only updates. But Patreon has updates for more than Our Life and has a big backlog of private posts already available to go through. Beta-Testing is more expensive on Kickstarter since you're paying for multiple builds at once, you can pay a smaller price to beta-test just one build in one month through Patreon. Both have good qualities and both help us out a lot, so it's really up on what sounds most interesting!

I think I might be leaning toward KS though, since it's only a one-time payment and I probably won't be able to do monthly payment on a consistent basis. Either way, I really want to help and see how the game progresses!!
I just joined Patreon. Long story short I bought a gift card and Patreon nor KS supports those but I got to transfer them on PayPal. It was a really tedious process but I think it was worth it! But how do I gain access to Our Life Beta? I scrolled through the posts some and the post with the Beta Build said "Locked" even though I've just become a Patron. Is this an error or did I intepret the benefits wrong?
Oh no, I'm sorry it was so much trouble! I really appreciate all the effort to support us, though <3. Only some of the tiers come with the Our Life beta, certain tiers have different reward sets. If you got one of the tiers with the beta, maybe the payment is still processing or something. Can you try messaging us on Patreon? I'll be able to check out the details of your account and what rewards you have.
I hope it all gets worked out! And Patreon has an easy refund process if it's not what you were expecting, so you can always get your money back if things don't go over well c:.
Aw, that's really nice of you to say ;v;! I did figure out what the error was and refunding was the only real solution (basically you were charged for no rewards), so I did end up doing that. It wouldn't have made us happy to take your money for nothing in return because of a mistake. But you're always welcome to try Patreon again. Hopefully next time the money will go to unlocking rewards and you'll get all the Patreon benefits you'd earned :].
