Been following the development of the game on the Discord a while ago and was really excited for the results. Now I finally got the chance to play it!
And unsurprisingly, it is as amazing as the game page leads you to believe. The pixel art is very clean and easy to read, but with an enormous attention to the little details nevertheless. And very smooth animations. Also gorgeous particle and water effects!
Awesome sound effects and soundtrack as well, John Wesley did a great job!
The gameplay was pretty varied for the game length. And challenging, but not as difficult as I had feared. Apart from getting stuck when I didn't realize I could buy the wall jump upgrade, I made pretty good progress...but also died a few times, so it wasn't too easy, either.
Overall a great homage to Metroid and an outstanding entry in this game jam!
