Nice job! I found using the shooting enemies as a meat shield worked nicely for the boss, since they blocked they boss attacks.
Good Idea but would have been nice with some atmospheric music and sound also after attacking the boss for a while nothing happened so i couldn't figure out what to do next. If it was something i wasn't doing then there should be some notification to the player or instruction on how to defeat the boss.
You're absolutely right, this was our (team of 2) first excursion into game making or any kind really and we ran out of time for some of the polish we would have liked to have seen. Thanks for the advice, if we keep this code base we'll definitely head that direction.
