Description
I wanted to explore how we can view nostalgic things with rose-tinted glasses, remembering just small fragments of good. I also wanted to highlight the contrast of revisiting something nostalgic with the glasses off, seeing the full picture of what was previously only a faded but joyful memory. Any criticism is appreciated

Wow. This is like a whole unfolding extended story with sections. Very nice I appreciate the banger effort that went into it. Splendid ambient vibe and pacing.
Giving an itch follow, if you like my own work consider giving a follow back, here is my outside-itch main website:

All of the sound design captures the feeling perfectly. Especially the first 20 seconds really take me back to my childhood and could easily be the menu theme to a PS1 game. Where did you get those samples from? They are great
Thank you! I am glad you like the sound choices, it's sort of inspired by music that use "nostalgic percussions" such as children's toys or soda cans. I believe "Mabe Village" from the Link's Awakening remake also slightly snuck it's way in here too (and probably the Mother 3 soundtrack also)
For all the samples I've used in the beginning: The wind-up sound and camera flash are some royalty free samples I found on Pixabay! The bubble, beginning pads, marimba and organ all come from Mother 3 soundfonts(There's a SFX one and a general one if you plan downloading them). The main lead I created in 3osc using a sine and triangle wave both with slight detuning and phase offset, very slight attack, and vibrato. Its pitch also jumps up very quickly similar to an 808 kick. And lastly, the pluck that repeats the main melody, is a sytrus preset (fittingly) called "Child's toy". It came from an asset pack simply called "700 free sytrus presets"!
You definitely sound like you know your theory. It's hard to pick out a favorite part because the song simply kept getting better as it went on, the description you have for the song could not be more accurate. I love the sound effects you used, the piano was excellent, and I can't think of any real criticisms in this song. Nice job
Thank you, your words are very kind!
