Cool art style - very coherent, looks good, and looks like it would've been fun to play! Unfortunately I wasn't able to play it. I was using SteamVR and the Valve Index (my hands wouldn't show up). If in the future you can get it working with all headsets that would be great!

Really nice work here! Super impressed by the animations and mechanics with the time allotted, definitely in my top 3. Also loved the art style.
Were there spawn sounds for when the heroes appeared? That might be my only suggestion for refinement, as I sometimes got caught off guard by them being behind me. But, maybe you would rather they be sneaky to keep the challenge up. Idk. :)
If you have a second to check my game out and drop feedback/a rating, I'd really appreciate it! https://itch.io/jam/vr-super-jam/rate/1249489
Loved the style, the animations and combat, really good job overall. I struggle at first to understand the mechanics with the tutorial, but got there in the end. I'd say my only issue was a bit of motion sickness feeling with the on rails movement, but other than that good job!
Awesome game. Wish there was a way to change rotation on controls instead of just head but very cool. It was a little hard for me but seem like would learn it with more tries. I didn't make it through first level. How does it match theme?
On side not with low poly you might get ezslice to work and that would look amazing. https://github.com/DavidArayan/ezy-slice
You are right, maybe some people can prefer the rotation with the contoller, i didn't put it because i took inspiration by Pistol Whip. And thanks for trying it, i think lot of people found it difficult and i have to learn to make easier games because as you know, for we programmer that we do the games, more or less is like we are expert on playing them haha.
For the theme i though about a story, the opposite is nowadays people like to play always as a hero. in this game you play as a evil guy that got a day ruined by some heroes while he was poopin, so he decided to kill all the heroes. This is my view of opposite haha
And i wanted to put ezy slice but i didn't had time also because i programmed for 80hours straight without sleeping and also i had fever and flu D:
Hey, I have Vive and the windows build is not working for me. The hand are not getting detected.
Good Work! I didn't expect full animation for the shield/sword/projectile, it was a good addition, especially in vr. Love the Alien Planet pack you use, and of course love the game too :p It took me a little time to understand what button control what, but when I understood it was fun to open the shield last minute to avoid projectile:p Also I always like to do the usual video game action (attack, dodge, punch) with real life movement instead of buttons, so I liked you gameplay. And the little servant was a nice addition too ^^
I'm glad you liked it!! And how was the difficulty of the game, was it hard? Have you managed to finish the game?
Anyway I really recommend that asset pack, is quite old (they released a new one some weeks ago) but for VR is perfect!! Poly count are really few, all is managed with a single material. Works perfectly with every kind of projects!
For this project I got inspired by Pistol whip and I also for the shield I tried to remake the throwing mechanics from God of War when you lunch the axe!
I played the first build through the tutorial and it is a good set of mechanics, the buttons took a little getting used to, but I got it in the end.
I liked it so downloaded the other build that came after the submission and gave the game a go, its a fun game, the enemies spawned a little much from the start so I died a few times straight off the bat, but that's just some minor game balancing.
Couldn't quite get when I could or couldn't use the shield from the damage it was taking or my own health, but those are some simple UI upgrades with a little more time.
Good job on this game it was fun to play.
Thanks for playing and for the detailed comment! At first is not really easy, but after few times turn easy to play.
For the shield I made that you can block for three times before that it close and go in cooldown for 4 seconds, with 2 shield you have 6 blocks.
Anyway thank you so much for the suggestions, I will improve my future projects!
dope dude. I love the gear the player has, its a shield and sword and ranged attack. the tutorial showed how cool it was. though when I got to the actual game no enemies appeared. and nothing I tried would let me walk around.
id love to see more of this game it could be a dope action adventure game.
Thanks for the kind words, i just had a issue that the player was not in the right position, so the game is quite useless.
I re-uploaded the project for good hoping that other people will appreciate the working version
