It's got good music, adorable slimes you can't say no to, and a fun premise of generating mana by taking care of your precious slimes, what more could you want? I had fun playing it, though I didn't get to see all of the special slime types as I accidentally closed the tab without saving xd
Man, I wish I could summon cookies on demand lol
Thanks for the review! It really means a lot to me. :)
If you just wish to see all types of slimes you can use the "showcase" command in the developer console, how to do that should be explained in the first page of the help panel.
Very cute game! I included it in my Virtual Pet Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to check it out. :)
Very very cute and polished! Love what you've accomplished here and will be coming back to it. Smart how big you made the hitbox for mana collection.
I wanted to lean even heavier into "clicker game" with it and try to optimize my mana output, and this led me to research max speed first and end up with no mana and no slimes haha. Not sure if clicker game is the vibe you wanted, but with the time controls that's where it pushed me towards!
Great job.
Thank you for your compliments! Make sure to come back after the jam voting period ends as I am planning a big update for then.
It actually is the vibe I wanted! I love clicker/idle games and wanted to make one.
The trick with what you wanted to accomplish is to get the dispenser up and running and set it to 3x speed before setting the speed to 100x, which will keep your slimes from being taken away.
Very polished game and has wonderful graphics. It's impressive the time of the jam.
Good work!
Thank you very much!
This was a lot of fun! I was honestly really impressed with it. I did discover that the pause menu doesn't work when it's full screened in my browser (as the escape key instead exits full screen), and it would be nice to be able to see how much spells cost before I attempt to cast them, but otherwise this was great! I definitely think I'll be playing more of this after the jam :)
Thanks a lot for playing!
The pause menu deal I'm aware of, I'm thinking of putting an actual icon for browser builds only in the future. It's also a great idea to let players see spell costs beforehand, so i'll add that in as well. Be on the lookout for after the jam period ends because I'm planning a big update!
Very nice atmosphere. I like that there is a progression in the game.
I have to mention that it's pretty annoying trying to pick up the mana drops, it's very hard to click on them for some reason, it just does not register or focuses on a slime that might be running behind the cursor at the same position. So I kinda had a lot of mana balls just lying on the ground and a bunch of slimes blocking the clicks :) I know that there is an item in the shop that you can buy, but maybe it's something that could be made available right from the start if the clicks can't be fixed. Also, the tutorial menu has a very sensitive scroll (I am using the touch bar).
Other than that a very solid game, good job!
Thanks for playing the game! I'm aware of the mana collection annoyance, what you can do to remedy that is to click on an empty area and drag over multiple mana orbs to collect them. (In other words, drag/swipe your mouse across mana orbs while holding down left mouse button, this will collect every mana orb you drag your mouse across.)
I am also actively developing and will update the game after the jam period is over so feel free to check later for a better tutorial and more responsive controls!
Really fun! I love the level of polish and that there's multiple slime types and upgrades. I'll be coming back to play this one after the jam!
Thank you! I am planning to keep updating after the jam so be sure to!
