The music is so annying but also so good!
Now, I can't really rate the basis of this game as I can't talk to anyone. (I've read your comment) But I can talk about the graphics.
The graphics are very monotone and can become kinda boring to stare at. It is easy to recognize everything but it might have helped to take out a little bit speed and make the map smaller. While I really like the character, the animations are a little bit floppy if you know what I'm saying.
All in all a fun short play that is best when the brain is turned off!
I'm glad my short, looping soundtrack has such duality lol. I agree that the maps should be smaller and the movement should be a bit slower. Definitely something I will fine tune for the re-release without the game-breaking bug.
In regards to the art, I wanted to limit myself to a small palette but I should try to add more variety to make the environment interesting. I'm still working on my animations, so if I can get around to fixing that then I definitely will.
Thank you for the awesome feedback!
Hey ENDOBLANCE, I re-uploaded the game. I was debating for quite some time about polishing this game, changing the story up to make it better, or just scrapping the idea, but I decided to just fix the game breaking bug and just re-upload it. I didn't have much of a drive to go and polish this since I've been swamped with work.
Amazing that you put in the work to update the game! I will check it out in the following few days but just as you I'm currently drowning in work and don't have a lot of time.
I personally like to leave jam games as close to the original jam version as possible and reinvest the criticism in my future games, if this information helps you with anything...
The game looks neat. It has a cool story, interesting music, enjoyable tension, and an overall professional atmosphere. The glitch is unfortunate. I will look forward to seeing the game once the bug is fixed!
Thank you! I'm still learning how to develop games in all of their aspects so I appreciate this feedback. I will be sure to update the game page with the fixed version as soon as I am able to
Hey GarterSnake508, I re-uploaded the game without the bug. Let me know what you think of the game. I debated making changes or polishing the game - even as far as just leaving it to rot on my itch.io page. Instead, I figured I should at least re-upload for better feedback with a complete(?) game.
I am currently finishing up my current game. Once I do, I'll check out the game without the bug. Sorry for the delay. I am glad you updated it!
Okay! I finished your game. It was pretty neat!
I liked how absurdly unable all the other employees were. It was pretty funny to help people press the power button on their computer, empty their trash, or even send an email. The graphics and music all fit. You did a good job designing these! There were times when I felt like the screen could be zoomed out a little bit bigger, but that was really it. This game is short but complete.
I also liked the secret plot going on in the background. It built up a lot of suspense and added to the enjoyment of the game. You did a good job on this!
I noticed this is your first game you have put on itch.io. You are off to a good start! If you haven't considered it, you could definitely keep making games like this. Good job!
There is currently a bug where if you talk to someone, you are then not allowed to move... My apologies. I didn't get to fully test before submitting
EDIT: I found the bug. I added a feature where once you talk to a character or during any other scenario where boxes pop up on the screen, movement is disabled to prevent breaking the conversation. This was a last minute change, and I forgot to re-enable movement for the case of a conversation.
Once voting is done, I will push an update to itch.io
