I feel like I know this freeman guy from somewhere...
Hey, I also made a Minesweeper variant :)
Loved your version, just kept dying because I'd get confused where the numbers went :D
If this was top-down, it would be perfect!
I did it! He's almost as happy as I am
It doesn't explain the game inside the game anywhere. Audio is non existant and Art isnt the best. I guess the theme was implemented in the sense that sometimes the boxes explode.
Found it too difficult to win! Maybe it is the position of the numbers, always get me confused if they are in the block, its neighbor, or what. It's a nice take on the theme indeed.
Yeah sorry I didn't think much about numbers position but I kinda got used to them during development. My Idea was they are floating above empty squares at half the character's height. Initially I wanted to make a top-down game but when drawing the box I drew the isometric one and decided to go with it even though I had never made isometric games before :)
Another problem is that the walls aren't demarcated and that you must not push explosive boxes against the wall because you will never be able to get them out. Maybe it would make more sense if I had placed the acid pools at the corners of the map.
